I was thinking more if they implemented it in such a way that the Auto-Skip Enabled was only able to be used if a party initially zoned into an instance with no bonus, then that could avoid that issue. It would set up the party as “Auto-Skip Disabled”/“Auto-Skip Enabled” the minute everyone zoned in, and then just persist until the instance closed.
Astral145 explained something similar to what I was thinking:
Create a script that checks: New Player? Yes/No, and then determine the cutscene setup to be used for the entirety of the instance (Auto-Skip Enabled/Disabled). Even if the new player was kicked from the duty, they would still have to watch the cutscenes, or just leave and continue to requeue until there was no bonus. I don’t think many would want to do that repeatedly, but who knows. It wouldn't be difficult to create a script that will check to see if there is no new players in the group, but it would be difficult to change the application to allow us to skip the cut scenes based on the rules. They would have to change how the application works, which would require more time and resources than what its worth.
Worth would have to be determined at a future time, of course. But I feel like there must be something SE knows that we don’t, what with them already upping the rewards the roulette is going to give players only two weeks later.
