    I would prefer 4 up like the old view, but 2 up isn't that annoying. they did get rid of the useless slots that couldn't hold anything in the old view on the second tab. What I don't get is why they didn't add a chocobo bags tab to the inventory, instead of making it a completely separate window i have to dig through a menu to get to.

    I just wish it came with a toggle option: keep the current view or revert to the old.

    No, they called the situation sad, maybe you're the one who's not reading carefully. As someone who's worked with impossible systems before, where I had to write code I wasn't satisfied with because there was a deadline coming and not enough time to do it the right way, yeah, it's a sad situation to be in, as basically every single person in this thread has acknowledged in regards to the 1.0 legacy code. It doesn't mean we have to accept it.

    The devs are not infallible. People are not obligated to approve of what they do. And you're certainly not a community moderator to be tearing into basically every person in this thread for the crime of not having the same opinion as yours.
    report them and ignore the posts, all it does is drive away from the point of this thread, the main focus should be trying to give SE ideas how to fix the game, not feeding a white knight troll to bury the important stuff.

    That annoys me too, though on the other hand I'm guessing that since we have to transfer items between the two systems, having them display separately is what lets us have both inventories open at once while we do that.

    Chances are whatever noob designed it is probably gone.

    While the software company I work for is nowhere near as old/experienced as SE, and it is a shame that a company of their stature would not notice such things, I know all too well how difficult it can be to completely revamp legacy bad code someone else wrote.

    Where I work, we had these horrible coders for about 4 or 5 years, then they all got replaced with people who actually know what they're doing and it's taking over a year to fix the product because the entire application needed to be rewritten, while still providing support for the clients already on the old version.

    So even if their current team is good, it can be hard to fix things, especially things that are at the core of the application (and inventory definitely would rank there), while also providing new content/fixes for current players.

    So personally I buy the excuse given, even if I'm very disappointed that a company like SE didn't realize/prioritize for this to be fixed years ago.
