Discussing your 'unpopular' opinions

I wouldn't consider that unpopular at all since every new release with a limited item comes with a thread of people baffled by these items being locked.

A minion/emote isn't selling artbooks, but I do think they sold the less expensive streams for the Fanfests.

I think in a lot of these threads, there are a lot of complaints about people “having to pay” $50~150 USD for a minion or an emote, so, for some, the shiny extras are a deciding factor in buying the merchandise. They buy it just for the minion/emote, and then complain that the minion cost them $50, or the emote cost them $150. But, like I added into my previous post, the issue is people placing the value on the extras, not on the actual merchandise itself.


The “unpopular” aspect of my opinion is the adding them to the cash shop part. Inevitably, the moment someone makes that suggestion, people flock to the thread to defend this idea of “exclusivity”. I’ve never been a fan of exclusivity when it comes to vanity items, so it doesn’t matter to me if SE wants to put them in the Mogstation. But a lot of people get all up in arms about the very idea that their Wind-up Dalamud won’t be “exclusive” anymore. (To which I say, if an item loses its value to you just because people are able to obtain it later, then it probably didn’t have that much “value” to you before, other than some source of virtual bragging rights...which no one but you even cared about.)

ya ik, but as you said, and some during that raid, why can't it just be a mog shop item just for the emote? why only tie it to a 150 dollar statue? Regardless I find it funny af auguring over that wiped the raid XD Usually people just stop and play, pretty amazed.
