Do four guild members have to be online and present at the time of purchase? Ouch, that might be tough with the log-in issues we tend to see when housing is released. I think I heard somewhere that the houses won't be for sale until an hour after the servers come up, so that might be why.

No, I bought an FC house solo. No other members were online because they were all my alts.Do four guild members have to be online and present at the time of purchase? Heard people use the term 'twink' here often on shiva but almost exclusively by german players and there its just used as an other name for alt. No other meaning to it.
I wasnt even aware of it having any meaning for the gay community.
To be fair, illgot never specified when they bought it. There has been no mention of a specific restriction that all 4 characters have to be separate accounts, whether by SE or on their Housing guide website thing. It just says 4 members, and that none of the four members can have characters belonging to other Free Companies that own land at the time of purchase.
As for it being an anti-RMT measure, I doubt that FCs full of gilsellers are going to try to purchase a housing plot.
I doubt it. There’s no mention of such a requirement anywhere. The servers coming up an hour after the patch is probably to prevent a repeat of Shirogane’s release when people were getting kicked out of the lobby server due to congestion.Do four guild members have to be online and present at the time of purchase? As for the “twink” debate...I’ve never even heard of the word before. O.o I don’t think OP would ever mean to use it in some offensive manner, so I don’t know why some people are getting offended over it.

The title of this is HILARIOUS. I had no idea that was a gaming term until now.
The "twink" debate may be kinda off-topic, but after looking it up out of curiosity, the origins are a little sketchy. While it's not being used derogatorily now, apparently the origins of the term in gaming originated from D&D, in situations where younger guys who didn't actually care about the game just tried to make overpowered characters and were thus called "twinks" in a derogatory way. Whether or not this adoption of the term has anything to do with negative perceptions of gay twinks isn't quite clear, but it may be inferred based on the time period it sprang up. I'm only getting my information from random people on other forums, though, so this is nothing cite-worthy lol
Regardless, twink is definitely not seen as a derogatory term in the gay community. At least, not generally. So that was almost certainly not OP's intention, at least.
Illgot mentioned in another thread there was a wait timer, so it would seem the restriction is just being in an fc with 4 members, not 4 unique accounts and not requiring them to all be online at the time of purchase.
As a gay person, caring about the way that we are spoken to is not “being too sensitive.” We get mistreated our whole lives, and so these kinds of things shouldn’t happen. I don’t feel comfortable seeing it on this game. That makes me feel unsafe.Either you are trying (and failing) to be funny or you are being overly sensitive. Words have multiple meanings. I knew twink as slang for a low-level video game character with better-than-average gear long, long before I ever heard it as slang referring to anything to do with gay people. It's very common in some games (not this one probably because alts themselves are less common and gear quality is fairly equal across the level brackets.) I've no idea which meaning came first though but I'm sure no one here intended any offense toward anyone else. They are just using the word as they learned it, so there is no reason to go kicking up a fuss.
Weird information being misinterpreted here, feels like.
The limitation on "being online" was probably meant to refer to the fact that you can't invite your alts to the FC yourself (to my knowledge), you need a go-between.
There's been no word on explicit limitations on FC members. Likely the game doesn't even recognize when multiple characters from the same account are in the same FC. The game is just going to check for four valid members. As long as you can organize your alts into an FC, game can't really stop you.
