If it's in the Armoire, all you need to do is click the "Armoire" button while editing plates.

Evoker's doublet can go in the armoire. Mine is. Did you repair it?
And everything I have in my armoire shows up as a glamour option.
Few things:
1. When you click on the plate gear slots, it filters on that type (so if you click on head slot on the plate, it'll only show you Head stuff on the dresser/armoire)
2. It will either show you the dresser or the armoire on the right-hand pane. You have to click "Open Armoire" to switch to Armoire Items, and "Open Glamour Dresser" to switch back to dresser items. (Please note that this is only for selecting things. On the plate you can of course mix and match from both, you can have a dresser item in your Waist and an Armoire item on your Feet)
3. For the armoire there are extra categories in the top section. Evoker and the like are in Artifact Armor section (first one)
Evoker's Doublet (and all the other Lv45 job gear + matching Lv50 coats) will go in the armoire, but the 'improved version' Lv50 gear sets don't. So the Lv50 stuff can go in the dresser but the Lv45 stuff can't.
To access armoire items for setting glamours: when you're in the plate editing mode and have selected an item slot, at the bottom of the window showing items in the dresser, there's an "open armoire" button.
the armoire needs to be expanded for this system to feel right i think
all the truly unique quest reward gear, wedding gear, and mog station gear should go into the retrievable armoire rather than the black hole glamour dresser
using relic gear replicas seems fine at least

I think they're trying to phase out the Armoire actually. .. IF the dresser works "better".the armoire needs to be expanded for this system to feel right i think

Hypothetically if you could use dresser glamours anywhere on any item without a plate (class/job restraints still apply) , what would be the reason to have the actual level 1 gear piece?
yes this is a big IF, and maybe this is the plan maybe not..
but If they can grow the system to that point where plates are unnecessary except for creating whole outfits and the dresser "log" is available wherever you are, or considering "we need to make this complex" strategies if you had 100's of plates to the point you COULD make plates of just one item if you wanted, why would you ever need the actual gear?
I'm actually asking. Cause I cannot think of a single situation where having the no-stat, appearance only item clogging up your inventory would be better than just making something else look like it in 3 or more clicks.
I don't think so, the way ffxiv is the dresser will always have a limit and the armoire is linked to it already and saves items in a minimal data state as well (doesn't need to worry about durability/spirit bond/etc)I think they're trying to phase out the Armoire actually. .. The armoire has always been there to preserve the special stuff, they're just been bad about updating it on anything but seasonal event gear
now they have a very good reason to have a guy spend an hour adding the 50 or so items that need to go in it...
Think so or not, if you had the functionality you cared about available from the dresser, why would you ever need the item back?I don't think so, the way ffxiv is the dresser will always have a limit and the armoire is linked to it already and saves items in a minimal data state as well (doesn't need to worry about durability/spirit bond/etc)

WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
as it is now, the glamour dresser functions as an extension of the armoire. Your unique stuff + 200 whatever and the plates are like a shared function
as long as the potential for lost forever is there, I would definitely care about not being able to retrieve it at will.
There really is no reason to remove the armoire anyways. Once you take away all the variables from a piece of gear (which both the armoire and glamour dresser do) it occupies the same amount of data and they're already integrated well
This is an argument for S-E's sake as well. As a game's dev and support; would you rather have unique stuff go to the armoire and be protected or get tickets all the time about "OMG I ACCIDENTALLY THREW AWAY MY HEAD BANDAGE SAVE ME S-E!!!!!"
The armoire can hold some items that have stats and aren't level 1, so I don't think it'll get lumped into the dresser.
