So while not "always", it's pretty damn well close to it.
2.0 WAR was shit! Only had foresight as defensive cooldown and thrill of battle. Inner Beast only heals you as well without the 20% defense. Vengeance only reflects...awful

Which was fixed in 2.1 ... as well as being around four years ago ... time to let it go.
That is one major patch cycle.
PLD was better than WAR for 4.0 to 4.1.
    Again one major patch cycle.
That is two major patch cycles out of, what are we up to now ... 12, in which WAR has not been the best tank by some margin.

Yes WAR sucked in 2.0 and yes PLD was the best tank from 4.0 to 4.1, but we can't keep pointing to tiny slivers of time as if they are equal to the entirety of the rest of the time the game has been out since relaunch, nor should it be used as justification for why WAR, or any job, deserves to be the best. No job deserves to be the best.

If that is the way that people look at things then all that happens is that the different groups are constantly battling to have their job be the best and a constant flip-flopping of balance where the players are either elated with schadenfreude or pissed off for being one-up'ed. That sounds exhausting to me and just seems like nobody really ends up actually happy.

How about instead of trying to push others down to make ourselves feel like we are standing tall, we be pragmatic and support bringing jobs that are behind up to par while being accepting that bringing parity to the jobs as a whole may require a job, perhaps even your preferred one, to be reigned in a bit.
