what ever you try to explain doesn't change the fact that obey > sic. so whats your point? just because its more trouble and you personally don't see the advantage of getting used to it - its not less true. deal with that? : o

My point was to remind you that you don't HAVE TO use your pets on Obey mode to play more than decently Summoner. It is not because you don't have your pet on Obey that you are de facto a bad Summoner that don't know how to play the job. You made it sound like everyone using Sicfrit is just a random pug playing SMN because it got buffed in 4.1, which is called an amalgam.
You're talking about an optimization that brings a small DPS increase as if it was mendatory to play the job correctly. I agree that a perfectly managed pet is better than a sic pet, if and only if it does not come at the cost of a badly optimized rotation. In this case, managing your DoTs, clever use of Tri-D, well timed DWT and getting as much Wyrmwaves as possible are a far greater gain than micromanaging your pets.
4.2 was a step in the right direction. I would just give up on tackle mastery but the devs clearly want to find use for existing moves and may not realize they need replaced not adjusted. Getting GL stacks shouldn't be hard, they are what make your damage good, why punish players for content created situations that will nerf your damage over everyone else. Stance Shift should give you a GL stack, Chakra Mastery should give you a chakra for every GL stack, Steel peak should give a Chakra stack, it is just a potency move anyways on a CD why not make it worth something. Stances should be altered or removed. and lastly One ilm Punch, Rock Breaker, and arm the Destroyer should share a CD, that recharges when you get a GL stack They are up when you need them, now you can silence or stun, or do that AoE, at a reasonable rate in content without needing to match it to a Stance.
I don't think monk needs potency's or anything, just some alterations to mechanics to keep them fluid without crazy seemingly sown on additions to our "2.0" combo

After giving 4.2 Monk a month to settle here are my thoughts.
60s Perfect Balance and 90s Mantra Literally the only complaint I have is that it shouldn't have taken till now to occur. Great in dungeons and great in raid.
Wind Tackle Greased Lightning stack It's mostly an improvement to dungeon functionality. Monk now has 4 GCDs before it starts dealing full AOE damage instead of 7. Otherwise it misses the point entirely about the issue with Tackle Mastery, Fists of Fire is still the supreme stance and the other two may as well not exist.
Brotherhood Affects Monk A minor improvement but it also ignores the problem with the skills design. By not proccing off casters Monk is still hamstrung in comps with more than one caster. We also still lack the overhead other jobs have for gauge skills between getting procs and being capped. If nothing else Brotherhoods where you fail to get a full Forbidden Chakra are much less common now and our burst is decidedly the best in the game.
