There is a lot they don't plan on putting into the game before 2.0... I'm afraid that all patches prior to 2.0 won't be bringing drastic changes to game, at least nothing that will make you feel like you need to pay for this.

to re-build a game and not turn it off is as far as i know, unheard of. one of the main reasons we hear wait till 2.0. is because, this server is rubbish.

they could have said "right we are turning it off for a year, come back in 2013 when we have rebuilt everything" that would have been alot easier than trying to re-build it while we still play it, so this is why you hear wait till 2.0 alot

Sometimes when I'm in a mood of conspiracy theories I think that SE simply wants to give us as minimum as possible so PS3 players won't feel left out in 1 year.
I agree with OP a little. Excuse "it will be in 2.0" isn't good enough when they want us to pay now.

Why are the dev doing stuff like this.. Ver 2.0 isnt for like a year. Taken parts of the game out and not replacing them till Ver 2.0

I understand they want to fix a lot, but they askign us to start paying for the game soon. But at same time baiting us with update on stuff that isnt coming out for year

Simple Answer:

Because some of the changes are impossible to make with the current engine/server. And because we will not get a new engine/server until 2.0, you have to wait until 2.0 for the changes that require the new engine/server.
