Well that would leave room for Jenova and Sephiroth being 2.0 and 3.0

4.0 - Omega Prime

or we might get

and yes I want sephiroth why you guys scared of getting your butt kicked by sephiroth like he did in kingdom hearts ahahaha.

Because Sephiroth is such an over saturated villian, used time and time again just because VII was the breadwinner of the FF franchise.

EDIT: People are also forgetting that Stormblood may extend well beyond just 4.5, in that we might not see the conclusion of the Omega raid cycle with 4.4.

To everyone who says they'll be adding Sephiroth cause, "they are going in order" or he is "iconic" those arent good enough reasons to include him.

First they already had a Sephiroth inspired villian in the form of "Nael" and although I never played 1.0, I've heard "he" was Sephiroth to a T. Also we have Sephirot. It was explained that Exdeath is a children's fable, but in the world of FFXIV Sephirot as a primal existed; how would they hand wave his existance if someone with his "name" exists already.

Second, Sephiroth is not the most iconic villian in the series, he is just the most know; as someone said earlier, even non-fans of FF know him, that does not mean he's iconic in the series as a whole. FFVII as a whole was righg place right time. Anyway, we are getting the most iconic villian this patch. While VII gets a lot of hype VI is the series fan favorite. And for what I hear, cant say much since I havent played it, the only villian that rivals Kefka, is XV's, Izunia.

Lastly, if they are going in order, someone pointed out that VII had the most weapons in the series. Using the weapons would be the best use of VII in my opinion.

If we're going to take the PSX's games into consideration, I'd say that VIII would be the best choice. Ultimecia's Castle is just too epic. Imagine fightning Ultimecia throughout all their 4 phases: Ultimecia, Griever, Griever fused with Ultimecia and then her final form. I think it's more epic than Sephiroth. Ultimately, I think IV would be a way better fit than VII and, to add to this, IV's music is amazing.

Sephirot has absolutely nothing to do with Sephiroth. Sephirot is based off one of the three bosses in Kefka's tower you fight before you reach Kefka.

Besides which we literally have Halicarnassus (Haukke HM) and Halicarnassus (Deltascape 3.0) already. Precedent has been set. Who's to say that the legends of Exdeath aren't based on Sephirot either, as both are trees from ancient times?

Good Job Square Enix judging from the comments on this topic a lot of people are scared of sephiroth.

They don't want to lose badly from him they even go as far as not wanting him to be added cause they want to avoid him at all cost.

By the way for all of you who keep saying it don't make sense.

Neither does having clouds body armor from advent movie be in the game or squalls armor.

Terra's theme on the magitek armor that doesn't even look like her robot suit.

I could say a lot but because this game is a nostalgia beast which maybe you have been in the dark about it because you think that it shouldn't happen.

Not up to you never will be up to you its up to the devs and if they put it out and you don't like it well too bad for you I will enjoy it while you wander the forums bringing up how much it makes you upset.

Honestly, I hate trailers with "teasers" that are actually serious spoilers. Now that I know Kefka will be in Sigmascape, likely as the final boss, all I can think about now is how awesome it'd have been to NOT know this beforehand. I feel robbed of an epic moment. A moment that I could have only experienced once. Of course, I could not have watched the trailer and I usually avoid them. But I just happened upon wanting to watch the live letter to see general changes and QoL updates, since they are very significant changes coming in 4.2 and ended up watching that trailer since it was the first thing they showed.

I guess this has been the norm for so long now though with the live letters before patches, it's just "routine" reveals to build hype and draw players back in and maybe some new ones. However, I believe some things are best kept quiet until they are released, you can reward players way more with something special by simply not giving it any attention. I guess ultimately it was my error though, it was my curiosity to just watch the Live Letter that led to this. But, in future, I just wish they'd give a warning during the live letters or something...honestly I don't know how to put it for SE PR/Marketing team. I doubt they care about such a minor thing as a possible spoiler, I'm sure they think more along the lines of "Oh my god guys, look what we have now! Look!". I'll just be way more careful in future, but it can be hard to avoid even when I'm playing in-game trying to avoid it, someone would have likely commented about it in the almost 2 week period after the Live letter/Trailer. Anyway, ranty, ranty, rant, rant over.

Way I see it, so far this is the FFV/FFVI/FFXI reference expack since it's been mostly focusing on references from those games. We've done the FFV wing of Omega(which itself is an FFV reference), we're doing the FFVI wing of Omega, which means the one after might be the FFXI wing. In which case, I'd love to see, probably in this order:

1: Kam'lanaut & Eald'Narche (Apocalypse Nigh)
2: Promathia (Dawn)
3: The 5 Ark Angel fight (Divine Might)
Then probably Omega Prime. Or, if as Eriyn suggested, it goes beyond 4.5 and has another segment of Omega afterwards, I'd probably replace #3 with Lady Lilith(Maiden of the Dusk) and push the 5 Ark Angels to the 4th position.

That would satisfy the raging FFXI fan in me.
