Can you quote the people saying all that? because your opinion seemed based on unexistant responses just to have an "argument". For me, Sephiroth is just an overrated villain when there are better villains that can be used and look more epic. The same opinion extends to Final Fantasy VII as a whole. Good game but extremely overrated mainly because it was the first FF that people played.

No one is afraid of that skinny long haired guy. Even his "one-winged angel" form isn't scary at all. Zemus into Zeromus is scarier than him.

Overrated as he may be he is still apart of the final fantasy universe and in my opinion one of the best bosses besides kefka.

Also ends up in movies, also has a anime also has made cameo's in other games and has a huge fan base you might not like that idea but just like your opinion matters others do as well and as for Zemus boss was weak and never left a mark in my memory as someone special.

Honestly, I hate trailers with "teasers" that are actually serious spoilers. Now that I know Kefka will be in Sigmascape, likely as the final boss, all I can think about now is how awesome it'd have been to NOT know this beforehand. I feel robbed of an epic moment. A moment that I could have only experienced once. Of course, I could not have watched the trailer and I usually avoid them. But I just happened upon wanting to watch the live letter to see general changes and QoL updates, since they are very significant changes coming in 4.2 and ended up watching that trailer since it was the first thing they showed.

I guess this has been the norm for so long now though with the live letters before patches, it's just "routine" reveals to build hype and draw players back in and maybe some new ones. However, I believe some things are best kept quiet until they are released, you can reward players way more with something special by simply not giving it any attention. I guess ultimately it was my error though, it was my curiosity to just watch the Live Letter that led to this. But, in future, I just wish they'd give a warning during the live letters or something...honestly I don't know how to put it for SE PR/Marketing team. I doubt they care about such a minor thing as a possible spoiler, I'm sure they think more along the lines of "Oh my god guys, look what we have now! Look!". I'll just be way more careful in future, but it can be hard to avoid even when I'm playing in-game trying to avoid it, someone would have likely commented about it in the almost 2 week period after the Live letter/Trailer. Anyway, ranty, ranty, rant, rant over.

Way I see it, so far this is the FFV/FFVI/FFXI reference expack since it's been mostly focusing on references from those games. We've done the FFV wing of Omega(which itself is an FFV reference), we're doing the FFVI wing of Omega, which means the one after might be the FFXI wing. In which case, I'd love to see, probably in this order:

1: Kam'lanaut & Eald'Narche (Apocalypse Nigh)
2: Promathia (Dawn)
3: The 5 Ark Angel fight (Divine Might)
Then probably Omega Prime. Or, if as Eriyn suggested, it goes beyond 4.5 and has another segment of Omega afterwards, I'd probably replace #3 with Lady Lilith(Maiden of the Dusk) and push the 5 Ark Angels to the 4th position.

That would satisfy the raging FFXI fan in me.

Yeah I went to look up which games originally featured Omega as a hidden or superboss without being added in a remake. After V it was XI, XII, XIII-2, and XV. Omega Weapon usually is technically different but with the inclusion of VI in the next raid tier they could be giving themselves wiggle room to include games that don't actually have THE Omega in them. A nod to XI's fight would be very fun to have to in one of the final tier's fights for sure and would much prefer them grabbing from multiple games for the last hoorah instead of just a single one again

Good Job Square Enix judging from the comments on this topic a lot of people are scared of sephiroth.

They don't want to lose badly from him they even go as far as not wanting him to be added cause they want to avoid him at all cost.

Are you literally a child? "Ooh you don't want Sephiroth because you're all scawed of him" There are just as many reasons to not include VII in the last tier beyond a single fight as there to include it. And while I understand people have the biggest appreciation for Ol' Sephy some of the comments want him to overshadow the actual focus of the raid's storyline because reasons.

That'd be like Gaius coming back from the dead to backstab the Emperor and claim Garlemald at the end of SB cause "he was SO COOL back in the day". Don't you dare btw SE

Now that I think about it, I'd love if for the final tier Omega pulled heroes for us to fight instead since the heroes always win in their tales. And he's all about testing strength to find the ultimate challenge right? Though I suppose it could be inferred heroes and villains are being tested in the various areas at the same time as we are

I find it funny that on 30th we'll get kefka here and on february mobius will have sephiroth with a FF7 crossover redux

Whatever happens it's going to be huge. Ridiculous precedent with Exdeath and Kefka in the first two tiers. Tough act to follow in the next expansion raid series without coming up with a new lore-bending reason to bring in final bosses from other games like FF VIII's Ultimecia.

I'm pretty certain it will be Sephiroth given that we got V, and VI representation now. Sephiroth will not be the final encounter though because we need to make room for Omega and Omega prime.

Plus omega weapon was in FF7 just dirge but still can pull data on sephiroth.

This means it was in the world of ff7 just because cloud and them didn't fight him he was in that world.

Omega weapon =\= Omega
In technicalities Omega weapon is with the weapon category of monsters like ultimate weapon, Omega is a robotic monster that travels the void to hunt shinryu

If we are going by the next proper cannon introduction of Omega then the next tier would be based on final fantasy XI or XII or XIII

If we take into the “tales of yore” it is following we could have FF1 since Omega was added into the anaversiry version of the game meaning we could fight chaos the first final boss of final fantasy

Besides they are seemingly aiming for the most iconic and I have the strongest feeling that the final or next tier is going to be heavily influenced by both FF1 or FF2 since both games arguably are the most influential on all of final fantasy one setting up the staple and the other basicly telling them what not to do (though I like FF2 I would love to fight emperor of heaven and hell)
