What are the most common reasons people don't dps?

You didn't look at all into the jobs, their abilities and playstyle, and instead only chose to play them based on what you imagined they might be?

since i started with 2.0 release - before anything to look into existed - yes, only on imagination.

and dps uptime in arr wasn't even that bad, at least on my WHM. i have nothing against helping with dps from time to time. but old content got nerfed, healers and tanks became stronger, new content was easier and of course i became better - wich resultet in 50-80% dps uptime, sometimes even more...

that's simply disappointing. and i am fed up with dpsing.

just like this - using verraise 7 times, sure, why not? i help dpsing for the next dps check - 7 times stone and things are equal...
