The issue is that learning to tank on Dark isnt as easy as Warrior or PLD.Thats why it would be better to make them learn the basics atleast on one of the other jobs to prepare them properly for Dark.Also try giving advice to people who have other level 70 classes.You will generally get flamed or ignored.

Not to mention as ive stated a lot of people pick Dark not because they want to tank but because Dark Knight looks cool.Atleast with my suggestion you get them to learn how to tank.

Tanking in general isn't easy regardless the class. if anything DRK was the easiest at least for me to learn. Even at 15 with marauder and gladiator is difficult and the basics don't come easy if someone doesnt help you. Reading abilities only goes so far. And lets face it, most people dont. So regardless where they start, theyre not going to be good if that's the case. They need someone to help point them in the right direction.

Using the excuse you'll get flamed or ignored is weak and perpetuates the silence that doesn't help the people who may not know how to ask. And even if you DO get flamed or ignored, god forbid you at least TRIED to make it easier on the party, and future parties that the tank will join.

EDIT: I realize this will sound harsher than it should, but it bothers me to no end when people don't at least attempt to help others. The more we help each other the more we all get better.

Your post comes across quite ignorant.Nowhere have i stated i dont try to help tanks.Like i said this is mostly level 70 players running an alt Dark.You try help they ignore or flame you.

Im basically saying Dark should learn how to tank and you're saying its players fault for not teaching them.....

And you're trying to be technical. Yes you haven't stated it but youve used one excuse and multiple others why people just shouldnt tank as DRK in the first place.

So you're dodging out right saying it and not coming across as someone that genuinely wants to help people give the original post you made.

People should learn how to tank, yes, and some of the best teachers to refine a new players skills are people who've already done it before.

A guide can only take you so far, sometimes you need help with actual experience as well. Everyone learns differently.

I also aware that kick function is an option but it's hardly fair on the rest of the team considering how long they may have to wait for another tank

Someone who wants to help doesn't even bring this up and not even for the tank in question, but you and the rest of the team.

Ive helped plenty of people with advice tanking be it in dungeons or fc.I mained tank for a long time.Started as Warrior in Beta.I dont need to say that though.I dont know if you've come to assumption im just a dps bashing tanks but thats not the case.
And it's not about me.It's about the experience for newer players that older players are causing upon them.

I've met every type of class at 70 that may miss a thing or two, who have specifically stated WOW no one has told me before. And legitimately it made the difference! But I mean....if you like excuses

Then if you've helped people you'll understand the learning process....however it seems like you really don't...And I never called you out as a DPS bashing tanks, no where, anywhere, here. I said you came off as a genuinely unhelpful person. That's quite different. Im not talking about Darks missing a thing or 2.Im arguing about them not even knowing the basics of tanking at high levels.Again you're just arguing for the sake or arguing.You seem to be obvlious to the fact that it's an issue.

You're arguing about them needing a learning process but yet want to disagree with me suggesting a better learning process.
Dark starts at level 30 not level 1.There are key parts at lower levels as a tank being missed out on this.I would have thought that maybe as a level 70 warrior you would know this but maybe you leveld your tank through Fates i dunno.

I see no value in what you're suggesting.

Bad players will be bad, be they a Dark Knight, Paladin, Warrior, DPS or Healer. The game does not teach you how to play your jobs, so saying or suggesting that someone should have to level Warrior of Paladin to be able to play Dark Knight is a bit nonsensical when the game doesn't even teach you how to play those effectively. Everything in this game is learned through experience; not points either, if you haven't the time, patience or guidance you simply won't be good and whether or not a third class under a role is locked behind leveling the other two is not going to fix a thing when the issue lies with how they have approached; or ignored rather, including a learning process of playing your jobs.

Your issue stems much further beyond Dark Knight and could be said for any job in the game.
