So, I just had a frustrating Alliance Roulette this evening. It dumped me into World of Darkness, which I happen to like, despite the propensity of people to completely muck it up. I get a fellow AST for my co-healer, which is fine. I immediately choose my preferred sect of Nocturnal and off we go. I notice during the first trash pack that the other AST has yet to choose a sect. No biggie! I'm guilty of forgetting sects/stances/etc. sometimes too. I typed a simple, "Hey SoandSo, you might want to put Diurnal Sect on." They're silent. I'm a bit confused, as they also aren't using cards and have chosen to hold onto an Ewer card in their reserve of all things. We get to the Floaty McEye boss and they finally type, "Thank you," and I'm all smiles thinking they headed my advice.
They step into Nocturnal Sect.
So of course my initial reaction is to reach through the screen and strangle them. So we spend the fight overwriting each others shields, which I mean, who doesn't love that? People of course fail one things after another: not stepping out of the flare/death markers, not killing the adds, and it's just a general shit show overall. We pull through somehow and make our way forward. I figure rather than try to explain the difference between Nocturnal/Diurnal to someone who has already demonstrated they don't grasp their job very well and the importance of differing sects with two ASTS, let alone
using any of their cards, I'll just switch sects. Fast forward to the second boss and I look over and what do I see?
They're in Diurnal Sect now.
Like, can you not? Cut to the final boss and one wipe later due to people deciding not to stand in the meteor circles, we finish it on the next attempt and I'm climbing over people in my race for the exit. I can understand if you're new, but this healer was 60+ running this old ass content. Few things ignite the fiery rage inside of me more than an incompetent co-healer.
