If you use L1 + D-pad left/right, you can cycle through the other alliances. I find it quite a bit faster than trying to navigate with the touch pad. That, and if you sheath your weapon when you are beside said person you want to raise, just hit left/right on the D-pad to get them.
You mean because you can't target other player characters with your weapon drawn? You can also change that in settings so they're included in the target list.
I'd like to know as well :/ sometimes I do ask people to use their AOE skills (typing out the names of the skills in chat, as well as player name), only to be met with absolutely no response ot all, or really ANY sign that they read and understood what I'm saying, since people just continue on to use whatever nonsensical combination of skills they were using up to that point.I would really love to know why the ignore option is so common.I had something similar last night when I got loaded into Wanderers Palace (NM). Black Mage was AoEing like crazy and the Samurai wasn't. I asked him if he was familiar with this place and how fast it can be cleared if u AoE the mobs (several times) and he just ignored me. I often check to see if these players are on PS4 (and possibly don't have a keyboard inserted) but often they are on PC. Id actually rather have a some asshat get snippy rather than cold shouldered
I use the autotranslate option as well, and when checking their search info and verify that they have english selected after all and still keep ignoring everything said in chat... well, what can you do.
Not even sure what I prefer, the absolute silence or the "stfu"'s I get on occasion.
Topical: a red mage in Temple of the Fist who does not AoE at like 20 mobs pulled. T_T

Some people turn off party chat since they don’t want to hear anything “toxic” from other players.I'd like to know as well :/ sometimes I do ask people to use their AOE skills (typing out the names of the skills in chat, as well as player name), only to be met with absolutely no response ot all, or really ANY sign that they read and understood what I'm saying, since people just continue on to use whatever nonsensical combination of skills they were using up to that point.

Reading too much of the forums makes me very sad and apathetic.
speaking of lack of aoe from dps, i was in... sirensong yesterday as a scholar. two dps were melee who were together, a ninja (lvl63) and a sam (lvl70.) ninja used NO aoe whatsoever; maybe one katon in the entire run but no death blossom and absolutely no application of shadow fang on bosses. the sam was only slightly better, they at least used mangetsu and oka but basically just stuck to using single target iaijutsu, no tenka-- NONE-- and also i didn't see a single dot from them either on bosses. and the tank was pulling big which wasnt a problem for me at least, but the everything was dying painfully slow, i wanted to kms.
Yeah, tell me about it... I don't think a single alliance managed to kill any of the adds when he charged his ultimate, so dodging the charge did no one any good. Group-wide DPS was the worst I've ever seen for a Rabnasty run. With regards to Rofocale's Ultimate if all alliances kill their adds on time, I notice that players will start running to the edges while he's still circling the arena. Which doesn't help if he charges straight from the edge that you happen to be on. I find that it's easier to just stack in the middle and wait until he finally stops circling, run out of the way of his charge to the edge he won't be coming for.
But man...that's heart-wrenching, one-shotting Hashmal only to have problems with Rofocale.
Ah. that's good to know! I usually focus more support on my own group because it's easier to manage, but I will definitely try to remember that next time I try to help another alliance! If you use L1 + D-pad left/right, you can cycle through the other alliances. I find it quite a bit faster than trying to navigate with the touch pad. So, last night I decided to run Mentor Roulette as DRK. Twice. Seems like there is a larger number of newer players(or alts) making their way through the story. Got Antitower for one roulette, then Keeper of the Lake for the other.
Antitower was good, the new person died once on the final boss, and nobody moved around to the front(aside from me, as I was tank) to be able to hit without the reflect and knockback when she puts up her shields. Was a good run altogether though.
As for Keeper. Well...it started out decent. Healer was barely in level 50 gears, so I decided not to do large pulls at the start(saw how good they were and adjusted to larger pulls after first boss). But the big fun, was the first boss. The randomness of where the tanks drop from the sky made it interesting. The large ones were almost always placed right near where I moved the boss to. Needless to say, both DPS and healer died at 33% left on the boss. The healer and NIN decided to respawn, I really didn't want a wipe, so I did everything in my power not to cause it. Long story short...an i330 DRK can easily solo that last 1/3 of the fight using proper CDs, dodging AoEs, using an AoE to push the smaller tanks away, self healing through Souleater, and not touching Living Dead. Sadly...only one commendation came my way for that. Though, one of them(I believe it was the healer) did the clap emote towards me after I killed the boss.
