    I tanked the Vault, yay.

I had an AST healer who I'm confused about. She doesn't have a sect on. I've been snapped at in the past for reminding people too early and since nothing is going wrong I let it go. Once one of our dps dies during thr first boss I feel like it's okay to say something.

She doesn't know what sects are. She jump potioned and has played SCH some before but wasn't 100% on AST. Had it been any other dungeon I wouldn't have been so worried but it's the Vault so I try to explain to her where they are. She doesn't see them. I wonder if maybe she jump potioned SCH then leveled AST without doing class quests and tell her to check on her quests when we get out.

We wipe to Chairbert 2 times but to be fair the DPS were a bit shaky on mechs and one time the NIN early pulled on me. We eventually clear with just the NIN and I alive after clutch Holmgang on my part and an LB from her.

I talked to the AST after the dungeon concluded and walked her through where to find her sects, the moves they impact, why they're important... it was nice becaus I enjoy momming people but at the same time I worry because if they had a worse tank or a meaner group this could have easily been a disaster of a run or resulted in her getting kicked. That's the sort of thing that can discourage someone from playing healer again or even playing the game more.

I wish they were more up front with the jump potions and forced some kind of tutorial on people, it's fine when you're jumping an alt or another class when you already understand it to an extent but this throwing people into content they can't handle is just poor business on SE's part.

To my dps - sorry that took so long. To my AST - ask questions! I don't mind, decent people don't mind, even bad people want to be able to clear.

I really have to raise an eyebrow on this community at times. This is in regards to the reset-Rabanastre from last night.

Does...does it really matter where your letter is for alliance B and C for Rofocale or Hashmal? People were flipping out that B was in the northeast corner of Hashmal and C was at the gate we run in at. It wasn't just one person. It was several people. They even redid the markers as a result. I didn't say anything but seriously why is it difficult to merely run to the marker's placement? I mean is it a shocking concept that some people might mark based on clockwise around the arena and not just blanket west to east?

The only one it actually ever matters in is Ozma, since you come out of it based on your alliance(A to the left of where you enter, B at the "gate", and C to the right). Nowhere else does it matter since you don't leave the area and need to reenter.

Yeah those cases are fine since they make sense. It's the ones where it does not like Hashmal. There aren't any adds to split, or orbs don't take more damage from a specific alliance over another. It's just go to your marker, kill your orb.

As long as the markers are placed in a way that points each alliance to their respective dragons/sand spheres/archaeodemons for the first few bosses, I don't think it has to be terribly specific as long as it's fairly clear who goes where. But then, I'm inclined to believe there are probably many opinions on how to handle the markers and mine is but one opinion.

To me, the correct way of handling it is as follows: Unless it's Ozma, adjust to where your marker is placed as long as it's in the general area of where the thing spawns. For Ozma...place it in the proper spot, and if you don't know, either ask if it matters, or let someone else do it.

I actually haven't tried any of the other 24-man content yet, so I really have no idea how Ozma works in that raid lol. But yes, that sounds about right to me.

Basically, for Ozma, he sucks you into himself and you need to fight your alliances adds, then defeat a much weaker version of him(he's really just a giant orb). He then spits you back out on specific platforms(A to the left of where you enter the fight, B where you enter, and C to the right). I had a run where people put it in the wrong place, and everyone(except one the alliance I was in) ended up running around the edges to get to their marker. So we had 16 people on the platform when 2 people from each alliance get marked for "meteors".

It only matters if you care about consistency. This will make future fights simpler if you can rely on A, B, and C always being in the same general areas (left, center, and right in most cases).

It's the same reason the devs consolidated telegraphs and buff icons so 'turn away' now always has the red eye mark, or removable debuffs now have a visible difference from non-removable ones.
