The aversion to paying money for things you want always confuses me.

A basic game feature is something like.. the ability to glamour at all. Or.. being able to move quickly to most areas in a large game.

This is extra. Additional appearance options are not basic features. You feel you should have access to all possible appearances in game because you pay your sub. I present that the customization options you take for granted need to be developed , tested and implemented and this requires money beyond basic maintenance of the game. Expanding these systems requires even more money even if it's just changing flags on equipment and that money has to come from somewhere. I'm willing to drop a couple dollars to make that happen, you are not. Who do you think SE would rather cater to?

SE is a business, and will first and foremost chase profit. Not morals. Presenting a business case for what you want is the best possible presentation to get it noticed/implemented.

There's enough caster gear with armour attached that you can make an armoured caster with a little creativity. Nothing close to plate armour though, which is for the best. The roles should keep their unique aesthetics.

Defending? I defend nothing. Do I think it's nice for them to do what they did? No. But I understand why ,and expecting a COMPANY to do nice things is setting yourself up for disappointment. Understanding the motivation behind the decisions they make will assist you in presenting a compelling case for implementing the things you want. If you think the cash shop is EVER going away, you don't understand how attractive it is to the company nor how many of the users are willing to use it without hesitation.

There are limits to what I'll tolerate.. and when I've reached them I'll no longer pay money which is the strongest voice you have. If you don't like it then stop paying for it.

Pretty piss-poor as far as arguments go, and it makes you sound like a kid with his mummy's credit card. The microtransactions in FF are pretty good by genre standards, but it's genuinely sad that you'd be happy to see them expanded to re-skins of three-year-old content. Just because you're willing to spend your (or your parents') money on the ever-expanding list of cash shop content doesn't mean everyone else is keen for the game to go down that path, and it isn't because they don't understand profit as a motive for corporate decisions.

I'm suggesting there are better approaches to get what you want then calling a company greedy and asking for them to forgo profit because it'd be nice or "right". I'm not defending it, I love free stuff as much as the next person. It doesn't need defense, it just is. It's how things are and unless the company can be convinced it's in their best interest to change, it will always be.
If people understood it as well as you imply they'd not post half the threads I see on these forums.

You know what? that was a shitty thing to do. I'll apologize for that. I don't know you or your money situation. It's very possible you just value different things than I do. I'm not rich, I just have some pocket cash to blow on games.. mostly because I don't go out much.
It's not that it's a possibility though, it's where it's going. This is what, for better or for worse the gaming world has become. Our game is one of the better examples but I'm realistic about the direction it's going.

It's one thing if it's a new glam set. But they mentioned taking existing gear, changing to all classes and putting Mog.
