Lol. If u are a DD and wanna heal by all means go for it and chat, i dont know how well u can heal a party as a DD but try it.So if I'm a DD, and the other DD is playing super well, I can stop doing DPS and sit back and relax and focus on chatting, because the DPS is already being covered?
Your attitude reminds me of the healer I encountered in Copperbell normal yesterday, their choice of action was literally to /sit in the corner while the rest of the group was actually trying to get things done. No one wants this person in their team, no matter how mad chatting skillz they think they possess.
I suggest you ask yourself "if everyone in the group would put in as much effort as I do, would we complete the content [in a timely manner]?" If the answer to that question is no, maybe reconsider your attitude.
I love the official forums, they tell you to use the search for thread about what you wanted to talk but when you use it they judge for necro a thread.
Everyone, no matter what their job is, should aim to use all of their abilities in a way that's the most useful to their party at any given time. If I'm a RDM and the best way to contribute at the time is to raise and heal, I should do that, not go "lol I'm a DPS". If I'm a healer and the best way to contribute at the time is to DPS (I have full MP, all party members are full HP, and there's no significant damage incoming in near future), I should DPS.
Refusing to contribute in a helpful manner when you easily can (when you're not new to the content or the job and the group is doing well) makes one a lousy team member. You are free to make that choice, of course, but there's no way to reasonably justify it.
I will do my best when i see the other party member do their best. Since dungeons ppl do w/e they want i will do it too. All these dont count on a raid enviroment unless i talk with the other healer and can just allways tell him/her to dps to the heart content and i just heal and dps on the spot.

You do understand that if this attitude was shared by the majority of the playerbase pug content would just become a wipefest, right?
Stop acting like a petulant child and just do your job. It isn't rocket science. You actually stand to gain more from dpsing as a healer in a bad group than you do in a good one anyways. If the dps in your group is steamrolling enemies your own contribution feels more like a drop in a pond but when you have people who don't know want they're doing your Holy spam could easily be more than anyone else's contribution.
This attitude is the kind of thing I just can't deal with. Stop being lazy.
im doing my job, im healing. DPS for a healer should be the last thing as it is a Raise coming from a smn or cure coming from a rdm. Sure they happen and is appreciated but thats it, is not mandatory. You do understand that if this attitude was shared by the majority of the playerbase pug content would just become a wipefest, right?

By that logic, AoE isn't mandatory. I'm spamming Blizzard, I'm doing my job.
People should do what they can to help the group clear content, not do as little as they can get away with and claim that more "isn't mandatory".

By that logic a good healer is also one that only use cure1 even when AoE dmg is happening. See how much sense that make?
My job is healing, if i heal to little ppl will start dying. Your job, as a DPS, is doing dmg if u do little dmg we can hit enrage and wipe.

Red Mage says hello. I've done it when a healer disconnected or died in stuff where I had Vercure but not Verraise. They're not awesome healers, but you'd be surprised just how much content a RDM can heal through if the group isn't taking much avoidable damage. Had a bitchy healer in one levelling roulette group deliberately get locked out of a boss to "teach us a lesson", although when I healed it just fine on RDM the lesson we learned was "we don't need you." They were promptly kicked and we just kept going with three of us until a replacement came in.
Hell, I've healed bosses as PLD on a healer disconnect. Once you get the trait for half MP Clemency, you can put out enough healing for a lot of bosses in 4 person content (especially if you've got Refresh or Mana Shift assistance).
Both cases are just someone using their abilities to try and help the group clear the content. Which is exactly the same logic that says a healer who isn't busy healing should be contributing DPS. Everyone should do what they can to help the group with the tools they have available.

Good for you. Have a cookie. RDM is the only class that can really do that though. There was this SMN in Raba who was healing with physick instead of rezing the healers. LOOL. There was a RDM and two SMNs in that party. Had to beg a rez from another alliance. But he was helping the group with a healing spell. Yay. IDC if DPS heals. What I do care about is DPS who can rez but never do. That's my sticking issue. It's one of the reasons why I'll never truly care about healers not DPSing. I'm supposed to do two jobs and I can't even get a freakin' rez from one of the DPS. Maybe if this philosophy of doing what's right for the party was evenly spread to the other party roles then I might find my give-a-damn isn't so broken anymore.
