I totally understand but i have never cared about rewards in pvp as pvp itself is reward for me, i could do it even if i get zero pixels out of it but i know i belong to minority with this mentality. While I agree it's nice to play with more dedicated players who are actually interested in PVP because it's more fun but right now there just isn't anyone doing Feast at all and it would be a nice boost even if it's just so people can finish off the achievements and get the mounts and other things like that. I mean right now once a new PVP mode comes out the ones before it just die off so it would be nice to have something to at least keep them going.
I feel much the same, Synestra. And yeah, there aren't many players like us that legitimately enjoy and would continue to play PvP in this game regardless of rewards, but I believe that's what devs should want. They should want something to be enjoyable enough that people continue to queue for it well after getting rewards, or whether there's a reward in place or not.
They should if they know what's good for them. These days mmos are based on single-player RPG titles, good contents but not enough lifespan. Old school MMOs had much less restrictions. PvP was pretty much a player created content, the possibilities out shines rewards/endgames. That's what I want to see again. I believe they are increasing more staff for stormblood, so we may see yet something of the old modes revived.
I like your positive attitude but the thing is SE simply can't reverse the changes they did in SB, giving something for a while and then taking it away seems impossible and it would also prove that they actually failed. If you look at some Blizzard interviews some devs have now admitted that some of the features they added in WoW were huge mistakes and they would never do that mistake again but they simply cannot take them off anymore, what is done is done.
Well, there was 3.0 BRD and now 4.0 BRD. . . That's kinda my remaining hope for PvP in this game. I hope that they listen to the longtime PvPers (or the fact that many of them no longer wanted to play) and make the needed changes to find a happy balance between what was good about 3.x PvP, and what good aspects there are with 4.x PvP.
Only things i personally liked was no need for gear and exp but besides those i can't think anything else, but if people bot and abuse exp gain from pvp then i wouldn't mind if they remove it(this is why we can't have nice things...). When i played SWTOR back when it launched, besides main story i purely leveled via pvp and it was pretty much only content i did in that game(Huttball was so addicting! best mode i have ever played in any MMO)as if there is option to level by doing pvp i will always choose that over questing. You simply cannot l2p if you level by questing because it is just too easy and doesn't require you to properly learn you class, but if level by doing pvp you will learn your class/job and it also helps in pve end game.

Don't get me wrong I absolutely love PVP and would still play it even if there wasn't any rewards or after I've obtained them but there is also part of me who really enjoys things like mounts, in fact I've been working hard to collect them it's something I enjoy in the game (plus our FC spends a lot of time doing weird stuff with mount...don't even ask). It's just a shame those aren't really accessible anymore that's all I was getting at, it's more of like something to work towards for me.
I understand. Thankfully, with the news that Seize is getting a new map, we'll have a chance at the old Frontline mounts once more.
