Because that's how probability works. You're the statistically-1-in-15,625* person who got the 4% chance of failure three times in a row.

* if I've done my maths right. 0.04 x 0.04 x 0.04 = 0.000064 = 1 / 15,625

1. If you're going to afk for more than a couple minutes in a dungeon, move first to within Rescue range of the lock-out area so you can rejoin the fight upon return -- though a rez may be necessary first.

Wait... can Rescue pull people through the boss lockout barrier?
