Updating the voices?

It would be nice to be able to preview all of a particular voice's samples for every emote and situation, particularly combat.

I feel like the people who picked that Miqo'te voice probably thought it sounded okay in the creator without realizing how it would sound in battle.

I think it'd be helpful if we could listen to combat grunts in addition to emote voices. Always sucks to find your perfect voice but it has the most annoying combat grunts.

An unfitting answer to a different question, but this is what devs would probably say if you ask them about it, its not a big priority problem for them. This existed since the launch and they didn't bother, so I am not expecting it anymore xD.

There was a japanese player who did all the work and put together compilations of races with every voice option and battle sound and uploaded them on youtube, they got taken down a few months ago... I wonder why...This would be so useful..

They need to remove that one female Miqo'te voice. If you've heard it, you know the one I'm talking about. I'm pretty sure using that voice in-game is considered a war crime.

...and yet somehow they manage to add new hairstyles with every patch and occasionally through other sources such as the Mog Station as well. Here's hoping they add more options elsewhere in regards to character customisation as it's sorely needed and frequently requested.

An option to just turn off battle grunts would be good imo.
Even not counting Miqo'te voice 5 I'm pretty tired of my character's combat noises already, especially when playing Monk where they grunt with every single skill.

Adding new voices would probably cost quite a bit of time and resources(since you need to pay voice actors, direct, record, edit etc) and we've already got quite a lot of options compared to certain games. I agree however that they should add an option in character creation to preview combat sounds and perhaps more emotes.

Another thing they absolutely should do imo, is add in-game settings to turn off combat and emote voices for your character and other players, just like we can do with most battle effects. That would solve the issue of annoying voices without cutting anybody's options and help in case you've picked a bad voice for yourself.
