Updating the voices?

Whenever I am playing with the character creation or using fantasia, the biggest struggle is to choose the perfect voice. When I look through the cheer and chuckle emotes they sound okay, but when the progress is done the happy emote sounds like a witch or someone having a seizure. This is mostly the case for female Midlanders, and for some Miqote's as well. Don't get me started with the battle voices.

Can we please have some voice updates? Or at least take some of the less used voices away and exchange with already existing popular ones from other races. I'm always hating on half of the voices my character lets out. :/

Female Miqo'te have some pretty decent mature/deep voices though interspersed with the cutesy-diabetes inducing options. I can't necessarily think of it as a fair thing to remove any voice unless less than 1% of all players are using it, because while you might dislike it - others might love it. Hell when I was still playing a Miqo'te I /loved/ the option that gave me a Garuda laugh. It was a /terrible/ voice delivery but it cracked me up so much I'd run around and terrorize people with it for laughs.

That is true, I know they won't update or change anything since that would need more new character memory space for every race. I only like Miqote voice 2, 10 and 11. Everything else is too cutesy or from lalas mouth.. shouldn't be too picky lol

I think it'd be helpful if we could listen to combat grunts in addition to emote voices. Always sucks to find your perfect voice but it has the most annoying combat grunts.

An unfitting answer to a different question, but this is what devs would probably say if you ask them about it, its not a big priority problem for them. This existed since the launch and they didn't bother, so I am not expecting it anymore xD.

There was a japanese player who did all the work and put together compilations of races with every voice option and battle sound and uploaded them on youtube, they got taken down a few months ago... I wonder why...This would be so useful..

...and yet somehow they manage to add new hairstyles with every patch and occasionally through other sources such as the Mog Station as well. Here's hoping they add more options elsewhere in regards to character customisation as it's sorely needed and frequently requested.

Hm, I just pick whatever and don’t care about voice because I feel like I never hear the it anyway except for the combat grunt, which I find annoying no matter what voice it is. But yeah, I feel like they probably wouldn’t completely replace or alter existing voices because then they’d be altering people’s characters. Is there actually a limit on the number of voices they can have on the list?

I agree on the combat grunts - my character makes horrible groans and I had to mute all the voices to stop hearing them!

It would also be great to at least be able to sample all the battle and emote voices from the character screen.

Though even better would be to be able to mix and match from them.

But by then we're entering the "could my Midlander female please avoid flappy-flappy-girl-arms syndrome?" territory...
