I remember I got so many in-progress pops in Amdapor Keep because players couldn't pass Demon Wall before being squashed. Melee LB on one of the bees was almost required.
This dungeon probably cost more lost subs than A3S fiasco. So they nerfed it around 3 times and removed bees in addition to players being levelsynched to i110, twice more ilevel than what players had back then.
A real dps check will never happen again.
Xelphatol Extreme- The entire dungeon is lined with the spiked pits from the 2nd boss of Xelphatol normal.
Instead of just doing damage over time when you stand on them, the spikes also put permanent debuff on your entire party that reduces all healing by 80%. The only way to remove the debuff is by letting your tank fall below 10% hp.
Every 45 seconds safe platforms rise out of the ground giving your entire group 10 seconds to heal up/regeneration mp ect. Have fun.
It's a real shame, too, since the demon wall is an iconic boss that is associated with being rather tough and a race against time. I like the idea of a bleeding dot affect lasting throughout the entirely of the dungeon. A small not very lethal sap eating away at your health bar, even while no trash is pulled. (Like poison gas)
It might just be me, but that optional one was way too easy...though I did grind like crazy to unlock almost the entire grid for each character before getting to that point(doing the Zodiac Age version), and having probably 1/4 of their second class finished off too.
Yeah, with the right gear and preparation that one's pretty manageable even at lower levels. But I digress...
Wall that quizzes you on Lore questions before you can pass.
Have a mechanic where boss summoned mobs drain HP while at the same time the boss has a group MP draining move that's used in its rotation. Add in falling off the arena/holes mechanics for extra nope!
