People will find any reason to feel superior to others, no matter how arbitrary or insignificant they may seem. The only thing to do is ignore PF listings like this. I wouldn't sign up for something like that even though I play on PC - I would imagine somebody like that is a cancer to any group.

I saw this and I wanted to add my own bit.

I play on my PS4, I have an older gaming PC I don't use because I have a serious back problem and sitting at my desk is chronically painful for me, even with me taking 40+ pills a day for the nerve damage/pain. I am only able to sit in a chair for about 25 minutes before I have to lay down to ease the pain I endure. I can lay on my bed and play using my dualshock 4 and actually take part in the game.

There has been one time where I needed to turn a few of the FX's off so I was able to beat the last stormblood raid (before the updates with new MSQ content), bar that I have managed to get through the game from level 1 to 70 in less than 4 weeks. To demand that you should have either one system or another is childish to say the least. I have been very lucky that the people I have meet doing random parties have been pretty chilled out and really nice to talk to.

I dunno. They're still pretty far off. I've got computer parts that predate PS4 sitting in a closest that if assembled into a PC would still outperform PS4VR. Though that is rather irrelevant on a game originally designed to run on a PS3.

At the end of the day, however.. this thread is also irrelevant. Players may design a group around any criteria they wish. If they wish to make PC only or PS4 only groups, they can. If they wish to make it Hyur only they can. And while severely distasteful, immoral, and unethical.. they can even use politically incorrect terms for forming groups, as long as they do not use any offensive language to do so. I just checked the rules and policies and I'm surprised that there isn't a rule against something like that.

I don't believe that anybody can truly call themselves a 'gamer' if they buy into the idea that consoles and handheld devices are not worth investing in. As someone with a Nintendo Switch, a PS4 and a PC it is safe to say that I am happy with each. Sometimes I'm in the mood to sit on my sofa with my cat in my lap as I play The Witcher 3. Other days I just want to sit at my PC instead and chat with friends or run some dungeons in FF14...and my Nintendo Switch is invaluable on the long train journeys I have to take from Edinburgh to London when visiting my sister.

I just want that one day all that is needed to be accepted and whatnot is to play video games. Really is no reason to have hate for one platform over another when we all play video games, cause at the end of that day. Isn't that the best thing? That we all sit down on whatever and log in to all play this game? Does it really matter I'm on a baby PS4 or a pro, that john katie and smith might be on varius PC from high to a walmart hand me down? Maybe I'm just being silly but platform doesn't matter, we'll all playing FFXIV together and isn't that what counts the most? That kindof thinking where someone is better for platform needs to die, it's the one thing from the 90's I hate that is still here. while good music and awesome DJ club mixes died. Why do the good things die young?

The appeal of consoles aren't strictly in their performance.

Stop thinking so one sidedly. While you're listing all of the reasons that consoles are bad, why don't you try listing all of the reasons that consoles are good? You might learn a thing or two.

-cheap AF price point
-parity, stability, etc.

These are the main points. I know. I've read both sides for years. and there's multiple counterpoints to each one that I've already dug through, and console side always comes up short because 1) I know what's on the used market and 2) I was willing to learn a bit here and there about the parts market.

heads up: you can set your desk up near your bed and play from there. I have severe back problems(some granny hit me and ran in a 45 zone while I was out jogging in the middle of the night) as well and I have similar stamina sitting up. you can still use a controller(steam has dual shock 4 support but no idea if it works with the XIV client). I play with my XBONE controller but I'm probably going to change to a different gamepad before long.

Thanks for that heads up. I'm planning on getting my old gaming rig (quad core @ 3.2ghz , 8GB DDR2 Ram , Raidon 4GB DDR5 card) up and running properly again as I want to try DCS. I do intent to build a whole new rig in 2018, but not looking forward to having to install water cooling to any new rig. I am guessing my current/old rig is good enough to play FF14 at a really decent quality. At least with my rig I can use either Win 7 Ultimate or MacOS to play the game on as I can't stand Win 8.1 or 10.

it should work? I had no issues last year with a i5 3570k+gtx 970 combo running ReShade and max settings. I'm guessing you're running the r9 290 or 380 but might be wrong?

I think the Raidion is 8500? I honestly can't remember. It's an "SLI" motherboard (I also have the Nvidia version of the motherboard) so I can pair it with another card if I want more power (I think the AMD cards work differently in a dual mode than the lovely SLI Nvidia do).

I use to play WoW with everything cranked up to the max with my Diablo UI, and it never struggled when I was doing 25 man raids at the time.

It's an really old chipset, the LGA775 socket type with what was one of the highest end quad cores which I have overclocked upto 3.6ghz stablally, but run at 3.2ghz so the fans are able to work in silent mode.

I really want to have a new i7 8 core CPU with SLI and 16GB DDR3 ram for 2018.
