Humoured him after that by doing as he asked, he actually kept aggro every time so kudos to him on that respect I suppose, lol.
It's mostly an annoying tick issue with regen. If it ticks at a bad point and there's multiple enemies, gotta backtrack, and that slows down the pull.

A good tank will instantly line up all the mobs with the correct skills so that he has plenty of aggro from the moment they're looking at him. And this is optimal because now the white mage can regen the tank while he's running to maximize his hp at the end. Now the bard can safely apply dots across the spectrum. Now the monk can start to build up his greased lightning safely.

I've only ever seen pre-pull regen be a problem when the tank is already unsure of himself. That's not necessarily a bad thing, because everyone has to start somewhere.

Basically, don't pre-pull regen because you don't yet know if the tank can handle it. Do pre-pull regen if the tank can handle it.

In the meantime, these remaining mobs will most likely queue an attack on the healer. As a tank, I usually click regen off before pulling or cover the healer to avoid issues. Sometimes it's annoying because the healer stutters behind and the mobs run a marathon to find them, making the whole pull annoying as f*** for both the tank and the DPS.

As a maintank i would never call you a salty healer for that. All i would say is "thank you for being an awesome healer".
I just hope that more healers out there would behave like you

    And short story:
Just saw an astro in rabanastre with the ilvl 260 shire weapon. Good thing our second healer (a sch i believe) was really good and we made it without furthers deaths. Well except for the astro who died in every fight.

Do you normally not use a second move to secure aggro on the remaining mobs?

Yes but it can be harder to hit them when they are going to healer rather then you and if for any reason you miss one you need to stop and run to healer which can make it a pain especially if your trying to do bigger pulls

It's far less error prone to have the pull start by going to the tank than to have it start by going towards the healer, because if the tank misses something, that something is going to the wrong place.

That a good enough tank can compensate for that is not a reason to do it.

Also the whole server tick issue. If you can time it proper and have aggro on everything between regen ticks, great. If regen ticks as soon as you've hit the first mob, less great.

I used lack of heals/taunts to drive point home to annoying players soo many times in EQ.

Good story here this time: Doma, first time, solo. Zone in, tell folks it\\'s my first time there and my gear is mediocre at best. Response is to just tank, avoid aoes and stack if I get the giant orange marker on me. Run went smooth as silk and one player even reminded me about the proximity marker for the last boss. Commed the healer wishing I could comm all 3. Great run.
