DPS in the duty finder. You do not know what I can handle, you do not know what the healer can handle. I already pulled 2 groups pushing the envelope abit (new alt with very low tank gear) and you go and pull a 3rd group causing us to wipe and you call ME incompetent?? This really grinds my gears and really makes me consider giving up tanking to make all you dps suffer longer queues.
People can call me a salty healer all they want, but this is the exact reason why if someone pulls more than the tank wanted or pulls ahead of them (and not by accident - easy to tell when that happens, given I've done it myself many times), I just do not heal them. I usually encourage tanks to not take mobs off them either if it's a repeated thing.

You want to pull the entire dungeon in one go? Level a tank yourself then.

Some level of encouragement for you:
What you are experiencing is likely happening solely because you are inexperienced. When I was first learning to tank, this type of thing happened to me (as well as other instances where someone would rather yell at me for not handling something perfectly instead of helping or showing some level of understanding that I was learning and in a role where i was already out of my comfort zone). I am by no means excusing people who discourage new tanks, but I think it's important to know that this issue and some others like this one will go away as you learn and develop as a tank. It will eventually pay off.

This issue is usually just handled by a quick message from you at the start of the dungeon. When I was levelling tanks in the past, I have used, "FYI, I am squishy. I'll be doing smaller pulls."
From that point onward, you have put the onus of proper behaviour on the rest of your party because you did warn them.

    A few things:
People besides the tank pulling. I had a dungeon run a couple of days ago while I was an AST, Gubal (hard mode), where the black mage (sigh) ran ahead of us right at the start while I was casting Protect (and therefore didn't she didn't catch it). She proceeded to pull a pack for the tank who sprinted to catch up. She continued to pull periodically throughout the dungeon and so I, in my pettiness (I admit it) neither cast protect on her nor gave her any buffs. They all went to the melee DPS and tank. I only healed her when I absolutely had to otherwise she'd die. We survived in the end without any losses and she high-tailed it out of there before the chest was even opened. Tank was like "thanks for pulling for me!"

It's understandable when you accidentally pull something; there are a few places (Castrum Abania being one I can think of and Bardam's Mettle being another) where there are spots that if you're just a fraction ahead of anyone else, you pull. But to do it consistently when you aren't a tank just speaks of poor sportsmanship, to me. We have roles for a reason.

Secondly, I'm working on RDM and I think I'm kind of getting the hang of it. I queued up for leveling with a friend of mine I just met here and we end up in Qarn. And the whole party are LALAS! It FINALLY happened to me It's never happened before!

    Picture for proof!

We all survived unscathed and it was just a fun run!

Had a really unpleasent Skalla run yesterday.
I just hit the minimum requirement, watched a video guide and decided to give it a go.

Dungeon popped up, I wrote in the party chat that I'm new to this dungeon but that I looked it up.
One wrote a greeting, rest remained silent and we started.
Trash was dying incredibly slow and I saw the RDM standing around a lot.
After I got the idea of how much dmg the trash dealt, I started dpsing whenever I got the chance.
However that seemed to greatly unnerve both the PLD and RDM, because after that they both started casting Vercure and Clemency A LOT. So I wrote that they don't need to help with healing. Silence.

On our way to the 2nd boss the SAM died twice in trash pulls, both times from almost full hp to instantly dead.
From that moment on it seemed like the PLD and RDM lost all faith in me and the mad Vercure/ Clemency spam really started. Whenever someone lost about 30% HP one of them would cast. Even if they had hots up, Asylum under the feet and whatnot.
It really pissed me off and they wouldn't stop, not even after I asked.

During the big pull right before the endboss the SAM died AGAIN.
Two times I ressed him but when all mobs were almost killed, I asked him to instead respawn. Nope. Not twitching.
RDM raised him and he accepted as the last mob fell.
I wrote that he shouldn't raise someone when a fight is already over because now he had a hefty 50% debuff for the final boss.
    No reaction.

During the last boss, I once again saw Clemencys and Vercures flying left and right; RDM used almost every Dualcast on a Vercure and the boss itself took forever. RDM died once in an aoe but at least we made it through.

That really was an incredibly unpleasent run. Not because of some failed mechanics or low dps.
Maybe I just had my salty day, but the mad Vercure/ Clemency spam just felt like a passive-aggressive way to tell me, that I'm a bad healer and that they don't need me anyway.
Also, nobody ever admitted to failing something or reacted to what was written. No "my bad" when someone died, no "thanks" when someone ressed, no "okay, wasn't sure".

Oh my. That sounds really awful None of that sounds like it was on you at all and it sounds like you got stuck with snot-nosed, petulant children for party members. And that dungeon is not fun as a first-time (that Kelpie; oh my word. I'm /finally/ able to not die during it as BLM but I've not healed in it yet since I died twice during my last time healing through it). You didn't make it to level 70 as a healer without knowing your way around healing. I'm so sorry you were stuck in that as you sound really pleasant to party with.

*edited b/c I didn't realize you're on Shiva Otherwise we could have cross-server partied it!

By the end of the fight I had the hang on how to kite the orbs while positioning for the push/ pull thing and avoid debuffs but until then I ate a couple of them. Nobody died but I definitely failed on that one. Forgot a couple of Med2 during trash aswell, often refreshed Aero3 too soon, wasted 3 lilies on DB and stuff like that. xD And I ate the gaze debuff at the last boss. Ended up punching the RDM (served him right /pettymodeoff).
The 2nd run when doing roulette was really cool and overall, I enjoy the dungeon.
And BLM are free to be turrets as long as they don't get one-shot Sometimes telegraphs are just all over the effing place...

edit: Yeah, EU data center ._. Would have loved to cross-party.

This is exactly why I always stay right behind the tank and never get ahead. The tank should always set the pace, no matter what. If tanks try to take on more than they and the healers can handle (and ask everyone ahead of time if it's okay to try), that's one thing. You just learn and dial back a bit next time. But when healers and other DPSs starting pulling crap without the tank and without warning, that's just plain stupid.

If I came as a healer in that party and they started doing this shit, I would dps from start to finish. I mean really, if those two wanted to do my job, I would do theirs, wether they survive the entire run or not. If they start complaining, I'd turn a deaf ear.

As the hive leader would say: There's a time to heal it and there's a time to deal it. And then, there's a time to let it all burn.

If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.

    Pretty short one;

Went into leveling rou' on my WHM to re-learn how to heal. Tank told me to start using regen on him pre-pull a quarter of the way in, and when I said I had always been told (and knew damn well) that you're not supposed to do that he told me whoever said not to buff regen before a pull was retarded. Takes one to know one I suppose...

Humoured him after that by doing as he asked, he actually kept aggro every time so kudos to him on that respect I suppose, lol.
