Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.

Literally had to edit this damn post a hundred million times until I figured out how to add an image, lmao

Did you at the very least act as their second and provided them with the puzzle to aid in their honorable task of filling in each grind?
So I got in a group with a few FC mates to go do a roulette.
We grabbed 4 people, queued up, end up in the Lost City of Amdapour, and I looked at the list of players.
2 Black Mages, a White Mage, and a Summoner.
No tank, but thematically appropriate.
We decide to go for it anyway. The summoner breaks out Titan-egi to which I yell out "Go go potato-tank!"
After struggling through the first 2 packs, I suddenly remember that this is pre-HW content....which means SLEEP WORKS!
So I'm now leading, taking the point position as a Black Mage, marking targets and sleeping groups at a time and praying my mana ward is going to hold up long enough to live.
We ended up clearing the zone, even though none of us could remember a single mechanic in play and took 3 tries to figure out the Door thing with Diabolos.
Still, it was a LOT of fun and reminded me how much I love that darn Sleep spell.
I play FFXIV because I enjoy it.
Sometimes I have to remind myself of that simple fact.
It's about efficiency. Chances are you'll have one DPS that's out-performing the other. You get more bang for you buck potency-wise when you single target the buff on the good DPS rather than distributing it at half potency to everyone.
Personally I will toss AoE cards if I get unlucky and don't want to go over a minute of not having buffs up. And I won't complain about ASTs in 4-man content about using cards, provided they're using them at all. Though sometimes I wish they'd remember that they can do more than just draw and use them.
Had a SMN who wouldn't cast Miasma or any aetherflow actions to save his life. Also had something like 1800 HP as a level 50 wandering into Lost City of Amdapor. It was PAINFUL. He died to every bit of unavoidable damage, racked up poison stacks like he was saving them up, and wouldn't say a word when I lightly encouraged him to buck up and pay attention.
Poetic grinding is a pain, Cronus Lux will be worth it though...at least that's what I keep telling myself.
