Of course more people are willing to pay for good looking female gear, because they are given better and more designs than male characters.

We might get Alphinaud's, Hien's and perhaps even Gosetsu's outfit in respectable time, but the females could also could get stuff from Alisaie, Krile and Yotsuyu, making it a 3vs4 deal here when taking in Lyse's outfit as the first costume from a storyline character in this expansion.
And, frankly, I am fine with that. There was a good amount of female cast going here, so I wouldn't be surprised if SE happens to go that way regarding vanity items.
