I dunno, more CE could be the difference between one last oppressor missile drop landing on a core. Can't really say, I never go for the resources, I focus on defending the base or pushing lanes.I wonder if it would be an improvement if there was no concept of resources at all. No generator, no gathering CE tanks or farming mammets. Just a cooldown timer on machina spawns instead of using a resource cost. Would make it easier for people to understand and focus on destroying or defending towers/core, though it's not really the game's fault when people focus gathering CE all match... even the last 90 seconds of the match when it would make no difference to gather more CE and they should be fighting/defending core :-(
Hmm ok I never considered that an oppressor which is already in position at enemy base might be CE starved and needing a recharge in the final moments of the match to land the winning blow. In that case I see your point that collecting CE in the last minute of the match could still be useful. lol so many variables to consider.
