Neither is baseless assumptions that unlocking the server wouldn't cause any issues. You yourself are also doing circular arguments and baseless reasoning to your own points. Lets see your evidence, since its so strong, that nothing bad would happen. Have you worked on SE's servers or do you know how they are coded? Anything less is not facts, but assumptions and opinions.

Did you not play, at ALL during 4.0's launch? 4k in queue, 2-3 hours to get onto the server? Man, what selective memory we have.

I'm pretty sure I have a better idea of how stable the server was, considering that I was on it 7 years.

Implementing an auto-AFK kick fixed the queues within days. Server locks were ineffective. Server creation policy should not live in the past. There is no evidence of server instability issues at the present time, and we're years away from another expansion that could potentially cause similar issues (which will likely be fixed next time around by implementing an auto-AFK kick and other less restrict measures).

We have absolutely no way to see what is going on behind the scenes with the servers. SE has all the information, we do not, and they will handle the servers as they see fit. That is the bottom line. All your whinging, especially in this matter, will only serve to push people away who may have actually cared what happens to Balmung.

The argument amounts to little more than the following tautological nonsense: "the server is locked because SE says its locked and SE is right because it says its right." This is not valid reasoning or the basis of any respectable opinion. The entire point of this thread (and others like it) is to apprise the development team of the need to unlock the server.

He simply wants it open now and refuses to accept any reasoning. He's just crying and throwing around "fallacious arguments" so that he doesn't have to actually come up with anything himself. This is an attention topic of someone stomping their feet for something and shutting everyone down. Just need to let him have his temper tantrum because he refuses to accept how things around or the options ahead of him. He wants what he wants, he wants it now and he's willing to hide behind whatever pseudo reasoning he's come up with. I can only point back to the arguments made in the OP, which have not been rebutted or addressed in any meaningful capacity (don't worry - it's because the arguments are sound and raise valid points).
