    Notes Per Second (nps)

I have a few questions about the bard perform ability. Will parsers track a bard's notes per second for fflogs? How low does a bard's nps have to be to vote kick them from Limsa Lominsa? Can we blacklist bards who refuse to do nps or peform with lousy glamours? Finally, can we get a user's account suspended if they play Stairway to Heaven or Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star?

The thing I'm most curious about is whether or not Perform is usable in combat.

It'll give me something to do during those dull phase transitions.

What I wanna know, who thought it was a good idea to spend development resources on this while so many other parts of the game could have used them more?
It's like Verminion where I constantly ask myself why we even got this.

I thought they mentioned the new bard perform abilities couldn't be used in instances at all, let alone combat.

It can't. Not in instances and not in combat unless Enix changes it or it bugs. It's understandable though, don't want people messing around when they're suppose to be fighting.

Probably, but, I hope not. They added a nice little feature here and the only other game I know of that has it is Mabinogi and has lead to all kinds of awesome performances (even though they were 3rd party songs) such as this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmY-TJilWEs

That said, this is all the game says about your question

I kinda worry about the strict draconian rules about third party songs.

Yes, I get SE doesn't wanna get sued if somebody uses their game to play a third party song (lol), but to be honest, if I can pick up a synthesizer keyboard at walmart, and play a copyrighted song, is somebody gonna sue me, or Wal-Mart, or even the makers of the instrument? No.

And what about someone coming up with a "mostly" original tune that somewhat sounds like a 3rd party song, or a remix of a third-party song? Just how close can you get to a 3rd party song before you suddenly get banned or something?

I just see nothing but a huge can of worms with this.

In the end, I am glad I have exactly zero musical talent, and even if I did, I wouldn't dare touch this feature because of how easy it would to get in trouble accidentally by playing something that remotely sounds like a 3rd party song, and get reported by some troll who just wants to get people in trouble.

I mean, even Warframe didn't have such ridiculous rules about this kind of thing when they introduced the music playing character.
