Hopes for the 4.2 Glamour System Revisions

What do you think the revisions should target? Why? And, what are some ways you think all that might be doable?

Yes, this is obviously just for killing time, as none of this will be looked at, and the process is clearly too far along even if it were.

    My two cents:
    Perceived Issues:
    - Space Requirement
    - Unnecessarily long process
    - No means to easily change between sets

    A. Each job gains an Appearance set, with a second set of slots (minus belt) in which to equip glamours. Glamour is no longer bound to specific items, but only to these slots.

    B. There is only a single type of glamour prism, though it can be created through a different formula per crafter. Crafters can enact the same effect as glamour prisms without needing to make or consume an items if they have sufficient proficiency in the item's repair type. These Appearance items can be toggled to reveal your actual gear at any time.

C1. All items ever bound to you are added to a log (appending 0/1 achievements per item memorized) for future use. Glamour Prisms then allow you to transfer any of these appearances to your slots.

    -or-

C2. You can use Glamour Prisms to store items in your Mirage Prism, a sort of glamour log, with a certain maximum storage amount. Glamours then may be applied from your Mirage Prism (1) freely, (2) for a nominal gil cost, or (3) for additional Prism consumption.

    D. A spread of Appearances attached to a given job may be saved as a set. It can still be equipped by other jobs insofar as its individual appearances are (those that can transfer will be upon activating the set from a different job, and those that can't won't).

    Inventory Space!!!!!!!!!!

Im praying really for a glamour log to be added into the game to me everything else is secondary. I have one retainer full of glamour items and thats showing great restraint on what i choose to keep.
If that space could be free'd i'd be happy

Agreed, six retainers full of gear here.

More inventory space will not solve the problem. 5 patches later it will be full again.
What the glamour system need is a way to save the gear image without to store up the gear afterwards for other future glamour.

I don't think the person you're quoting is asking for more inventory space, but is hoping to clear up inventory space with the addition of a glamour log. At least going by their entire post.

I'd like the same, since the majority of my retainer inventories are filled with glamour gear.

I'd be content if they just copied the wardrobe system from WoW or GW2.

I'd definitely take GW2's style over WoW.

While both have an appearance log for unlocking the appearance once you've obtained the item, WoW's extra requirement of needing to talk with a specific NPC in one of a few specific areas or spend a pretty penny to get a mount with a specific NPC on it to actually access the switching of gear appearance makes the actual process of glamouring/transmogging/etc more annoying and take more time.

Also, whichever dummy over there changed it so you can only hide your helm by transmogging it to be a hidden slot needs to change it back. Something easy to access for that...I dunno, maybe on the character window somewhere?

Not to mention that the identity of a job is quite readily apparent via both the weapon and the animations of abilities. Throw heavy armor style on a Black Mage and they are still going to look like a Black Mage casting stuff.

An armored caster isn't even impossible to do currently (image below), so "job identity" is already out the window on both ends of the spectrum. Might as well branch it out, i say.

I love the armored caster look. What are those hands?

Augmented Lost Allagan Gloves of Casting.

The chestpiece, Legacy Warrior Mail, unfortunately sports bare arms, so there's very few options that work with it, but said piece is one of them.
