If our commode slots are going to be limit, I hope that we can consolidate sets into one commode slot. Since we can't retrieve them once they have been stored, would be a nice way to save space.

There was a reddit post shortly after the liveletter that said that you are somehow able to get them outside again. (Would be horrible otherwise with the limit) Also sets would also only make sense if you can get them out of there otherwise you will have even less options for glamour. (Like shirt X is stuck in set Y but you kinda want it for ensemble Z)
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
What I was referring to was more of an idea that if say a complete set is stored in the commode, it could be consolidated into one commode slot. The set item would still function the same as if the the pieces were taking up slots individually. The player would still be able to glamour the pieces individually. The set itself would just take up one slot, instead of 5-10 slots (depending on the size of the set).
I suppose if a set could be removed from the commode, it can be turned back into individual pieces in the same manner as the set box items that they've introduced in Stormblood. Consolidating sets into one items would basically be the same function, except in reverse.

I just want to be able to wear some PVP Gear on different jobs. Like the bat gloves for ninja, the BLM wolfeye set, etc. Really hoping we can do stuff like that!

I can't be sure, but I don't think that could work with the way this game seems to handle items and item slots. If it's possible at all, I think they would have to create a separate item that is a predefined "complete set" costume and you could maybe trade all the set pieces in to gain that set, but then the game wouldn't see you as owning the individual pieces any more. What I was referring to was more of an idea that if say a complete set is stored in the commode, it could be consolidated into one commode slot. am i wrong or is this seriously a thread about wanting to change something that doesn't even exist yet?
The thread was made before any news was released concerning the revisions coming in 4.2.
It was not at the time designed to suggest revisions to said revisions, though such discussion does keep to the thread's broader purpose if the information given about the coming revisions should point towards an undesirable outcome that could be potentially improved upon.
Does this answer your question, or were you aiming solely for rhetorical effect?
This thread was created to show what people would wish to have as a new glamour system. Now that the news are out on what we will, we just discuss if we like it or not. (And lets be honest, they wont just change the whole system till 4.2 so even though its not in the game its still highly possible that it will come as they had shown us.)

Not necessarily. With the power of programming, the set items could be defined to represent multiple items, but take up one slot in the commode. When the player is creating an ensemble, all the pieces could still be chosen individually. I just see little point in a complete set taking up multiple slots, when it could easily be represented by one slot.
Of course, it will ultimately depend on how the UI is designed and implemented. Defining a streamlined and user friendly interface, that actually accommodates user needs, takes time, effort and budget. From the looks of it, this current implementation seems to be a repurposed version of the furniture storage UI, so I'm not expecting to be thoroughly impressed. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong.
