Framerate Issues won't Disconnect you, atleast not if you have 20-30 Frames due of a crowd.

Simply said a Zone can handle only a amount of Players and Monsters, if that Limit exceeds you can kiss 1/4 of those Player Connections Goodbye.
I've never DC'd in a mass crowd, while i've seen people DC just loading into certain zones. Said people no longer had issues after upgrading to new pc's. Its definitely a localized issue in most cases, and not the servers. They are probably limiting the number of people (and they ahve said this) to prevent degraded gameplay experiences due to number of people. Balmung is overfull. Move off of the server if you want new blood.
