It was advertised as optional feature as part of the game, it does not interfere with the main story line.
Technically you can get a room with FC, otherwise just like everyone else that pays their subscription, wait for the opportunity.
FC rooms are not an adequate substitute for personal housing. If the developers are going to continue to advertising housing as such a desireable feature, they need to make it available to more than just ~20% of the playerbase. And Shirogane was advertised as a main attraction for Stormblood.

No, I'm not taking anything out of context. I'm describing my actual experiences - not making assumptions based on "pictures I see". I constantly see people visiting my housing plot/community in WildStar. There are TONS of public plots where roleplayers gather on a regular basis. Many have created plots dedicated to hosting dueling events. People chat constantly in housing zone chat and share ideas, offer suggestions, and generally help each other build creatively. It is far more of a community than I have ever experienced in FFXIV's housing.
This. I do not know one person without access to a house that doesn’t want to color their chocobos. The house flippers buy so many houses and leave genuine players who would actually use those plots constantly without a chance. They are leaving thousands of players feeling left out of things like: having a colored chocobo, being able to affordably garden the resources to do so (I spent 31k just trying to turn mine purple at the apartments.) And not everyone can handle super large FCs.
My FC is small, but we add to the community by allying ourselves with other free companies, holding server wide funny events, and overall trying to be a non-competative guild that seeks to network and build the community in a healthy way. I know we add to the community - people tell me as such. But even when people try to buy us a house from a flipper, the price gougers want 20 million JUST to vacate a small house. We don’t want mansions. Just a small house.
How are empty plots by price gougers adding to the community?

We’re all advocating for the type of game we want to see. Mine just happens to clash with yours. I like a story driven game, where people can come together as a community, and defeat challenges based on a PVE format. I want to work together. [snip] You’re not gonna like what I say, but I’m gonna say it regardless because I want Square Enix to hear the other side.
I say this because my boyfriend pays for my subscription and the subscriptions of multiple people who are disabled. We are adding to the community. All we’d like is a small house, but 20 million to get it from one of the house flippers is ridiculous. All the wards I’ve gone into are typically empty. We hang out at my friend’s personal, ans we’ve seen 0 other people despite spending hours there. Also OP, saying that only certain subscriptions, those of people who are employed, pay the wages for Square employees is downright rude. Are you implying that subscriptions of unemployed people do not count, and their money is no good? " We pay your salaries " is such a rude thing to say. That argument in my eyes is one of ignorance.

Your experience is foreign to me. All I can go off of is what I've seen. Apparently that's all you can do too. Hope you enjoy WildStar then. No, I'm not taking anything out of context. And yet F2P MMOs don't have these stability issues since they handle housing significantly better than FFXIV.Hasn't there been enough threads about this already? Life is not fair, server overload, we all have a life be it rich or poor, blah blah blah, not enough time, it's call a game not everyone gets a trophy for trying ect ect.
in conclusion /em plays the worlds smallest violin for those who still don't get it's not about money we all pay our subscription, it's about stability.
This. In Black Desert alone, I have spent hours and hours visiting different houses and decorating my own. I soent a lot of time roleplaying in people’s instanced housing. Housing allows for people to group together and enjoy some time. They build the community. For everyone, not just an elite few.

How people act and play the game isn't up to you. How people use their plot isn't either. Where in game they spend their time isn't up to you.I say this because my boyfriend pays for my subscription and the subscriptions of multiple people who are disabled. We are adding to the community. And yet this is not a F2P game so if housing is all your really looking for Sims are always an option or a F2P game. In the mean time Read this ; http://ffxiv.jeuxonline.info/actuali...ames-week-2017 and see the bottom of the article in which they have provided an English version in regards to the housing problem, as many salty people call it, and some things that are in the works.
