"This isn't f2p gosh darn it you pay a sub so you should expect poorer decisions and server stability!" ...wait whatAnd yet this is not a F2P game so if housing is all your really looking for Sims are always an option or a F2P game. In the mean time Read this ; http://ffxiv.jeuxonline.info/actuali...ames-week-2017 and see the bottom of the article in which they have provided an English version in regards to the housing problem, as many salty people call it, and some things that are in the works.

I laughed. Though seriously people really just want access to some of the housing features. I’d be happy if we could have access to apartments for free companies and, or gardening in apartments. That would be enough for me. Until then, I’m gonna try to suggest some kind of compromise / some kind of middle ground. I’m not asking for wards to be taken away or messed with. I’m just asking for some kind of substitution for those who don’t have access to warded housing.

We’re all advocating for the type of game we want to see. Mine just happens to clash with yours. I like a story driven game, where people can come together as a community, and defeat challenges based on a PVE format. I want to work together. [snip] You’re not gonna like what I say, but I’m gonna say it regardless because I want Square Enix to hear the other side.
You've been here for over three years, it seems. You've not had an opportunity at a house yet?I laughed. Though seriously people really just want access to some of the housing features. Because I've been here three months and I beat the rush on Mateus to get my Shirogane house. I don't understand how a player with 1/12th of the experience got what you can't seem to get.

Because this housing system is based on luck. Are you lucky enough to beat the 1,000 player queue the day housing is released? Are you lucky to load in fast enough/sprint fast enough to the plot you want? Are you lucky enough to have the day off of school/work the morning new housing goes live? You've been here for over three years, it seems. You've not had an opportunity at a house yet?

When Shirogane released, a bunch of players got hit with 5606 and 2002 lobby errors, and then were thrown into a 1,000+ player queue. Considering there were only 720 new houses added per server, they had no chance of getting a house at that point. It has nothing to do with time played. I've played 2 years, and I was hit with 2 lobby server errors trying to log in, and stuck in a 1,600 player queue. Another friend of mine has been playing for 3 years; same thing. Another one since ARR launch, and was lucky to be number 235 in queue.
In XIV, experience and time played means nothing when getting a house.

Luck is a trainable skill. The ability to recognize opportunity + the ability to make use of opportunities recognized = luck. Sounds like you don't have as fast of a connection. Did you consider coordinating with a friend who has a faster connection?
What did you do to prepare for this contest? You HAVE participated in a land rush, yes?
Luck is not a trainable skill. Luck is circumstances beyond one's control benefitting one. The key is circumstances are out of your control.Luck is a trainable skill. Can one turn unfortunate events to their advantage? Yes. But what happened on 4.1 is not something that could have been planned for or worked around without circumstances beyond one's control benefitting them.
Luck is DEFINITELY a trainable skill. And I don't know about you, but I definitely planned for it. I was up an hour before the servers went live so as to ensure installation of the patch went properly. (It didn't. The launcher borked. Was I "lucky" to be up with enough time to fix it? No. I planned for it.) I even did research into which number was least likely to be selected out of the given range of wards. Sure enough, Ward 8 was one of the last to sell out. So that was my target.
As far as the queue goes, I was trying to log in about 10 minutes before it was even time. I knew everyone else would be trying too. Luck? Nope. Experience.
I wasn't able to control EVERY aspect of the experience. But I was definitely in control of the ones that could be controlled.

Interesting because Hyomin and I were up several hours before the patch went live and had it downloaded well before. Both of us were spamming the World icon to refresh the launcher and connected at precisely 6am EST. What happened? Server lobby error crashed the whole launcher, which wouldn't restart due to faulty programming-- something the devs later acknowledged and issued an emergency patch for. Basically, we did everything you did except you were luckier than us. So, please, go ahead and explain how this is a trainable asset that both of lack.Luck is DEFINITELY a trainable skill.
