I disagree ESO has merit points, ff11 has merits I don’t see how people who play less will be any less effective than hey are now. Hardcore will always be better that’s life I just think the gear grind is what makes people bored. Lets add different ways to make the grind less boring. Instead of just using roulettes for points let them give end game xp that we can use to power up etc.

I actually didn't mind the system with merits in XI. It was one of the things I could do in my off time, and helped balance stats further on the classes I played, but it was a time sync I could get into outside of endgame content and to stay my boredom lol. However, make it a decision based system. It's not MANDATORY, but if you wanted to help increase your stats and dps, you can do it. Not everyone will, but everyone who wants to be in that competitive market has that option. Your gear takes care of most of those issues as is the higher the ilvl and BiS the gear is. But that if you decide to want to use it or do it further, you could essentially do so. Again, people choose their static and teams. So those who want to do that endgame content and be in that market, can help increase their own stats with the merit system. And for those who want more casual content, they wouldn't need to do it.
