That was my point. There should be no restrictions on friending my own characters or mailing my own characters or having multiple "my own characters" share a house. Someone, somewhere, for some reason, made a specific design decision to not allow it. The only coding "issue" would be: If characterA and characterB belong to same account then allow.

Back at the start of 2.0 you actually used to be able to friend yourself. Sort of. If one of your characters was in an instance and you disconnected, you could log on to a second character and send the first a friend request. When you got back on the first character (and exited from the instance) you would then receive the request and be able to accept it.

However, SE patched that, so it is clearly something they don't want by design (for unknown reasons) instead of being a technical reason.

I have no idea if they removed those "friends" from the list of anyone who did that though, I didn't have an alt at the time to benefit

This change was never made the change was not using your house for 45 days.. big differnce taking away a house someone hasn't used in 45 days then taking away a house being used...

Yeah I dont think a person with multiple houses in one server is going to need them all... unlike people without houses. It's just to play fair. Plus like people have said if you can just share your estate with your other accounts (god knows why people make so many in sam server) then that should take away that problem. Just a way to make the game fun and fair for everyone, old and new players.

They should indeed limit the ownership of household to one per account and let the people who have no life with their 5-10 other alts share their house. This way it's fair for old players, new players and FC's to even have a chance to get a house. As for people flipping houses don't know how that could be prevented but this is one of the only solutions I see. These people can get pissy and complain all they want but this game should be fun and fair to everyone.

Also I saw someone suggesting that different wards should be added for people buying FC houses, reloacing plots and personal housing, this could work too.

I apologize if this has already been suggested, but I need to throw it out there.
There is one extremely simple solution to the entire Housing Seller Market. That being a Cooldown period after any plot has been relinquished or demolished, in which it cannot be purchased by anyone. Make that 48 hours, and everybody can see that timer on the plot, and ask yourselves: What do House Buyers pay the Sellers for? Would you pay that exorbitant amount of gil, up in the several hundred millions, to have a chance, to be one of hundreds that get a shot of buying it? Likely not being the luckiest among them? I cannot imagine anyone would waste their hard earned ingame fortune like that. Sellers would not be able to actually sell their houses, completely shutting down this ingame black market.
There will likely still not be enough space for everyone, and this doesn't accomodate for houses already owned by sellers that they might hold on to, but it would put a stop to the market.

This has been suggested and would throw a wrench into peoples plans if they wanted to switch a personal to fc house or vice versa.

I dont think it is fair to punish those people in small FCs. I av an FC with 4-5 people (i also do not own a private house) and i want to keep it small. I av poor social skills irl / ingame and it takes a lot for me to make friends.

Still i work very hard, crafting, gathering and i think i av the right to own an fc house n av an airship.

I have no issue with restricting the number of houses per account. I also think there is a massive need 2 stop the race to buy a house when its released. I am a ps4 user n by default my loading times are beyond inferior 2 that of those with ssd's so punishing people because of their personal setups has always annoyed me.

I would vote 4 instanced housing, refunds on relinquishing, more med/large plots and for earning housing currency like mgp as long as its fair

To me housing is a priority, i love decorating the interior and exterior and i do not think that the size of the fc should impact my choice of house if i worked hard to pay for it.

I've checked the owners of my few desired plots in each ward and the majority of them are taken by Level 1-20 Characters that are in their FC of one member being themselves. The houses are not decorated and clearly are not being utilized. If anything comes out of this I hope to see at the very least a fix come so people cannot simply hoard houses with no intention of actually using them as so many other players are dying to do. When the housing reclamation was introduced I remember being online with so many other people on Christmas Eve all standing outside of the plots waiting for the timer to kick in for them to fall down.. when they did everyone that I personally knew was able to obtain their house. Maybe there could be something like this again that not only adds the extra wards but a concrete day that all inactive housing is reclaimed. But anyway, just brainstorming. Thanks Yoshi!

If they're in an FC perhaps they're using them for airships or even for charging aetherial wheels to take to another FC. Not decorating them doesn't mean they're not being "utilized", just not the same way as you might use them.

What people do with houses they bought is completely up to them, not their neighbors. People enjoy their houses differently. I am with you, I love the decorated and used and the yard filled, all of that. That being said, on other threads people have stated that they use and enjoy their house despite furnishing it, so it's preference. If it's preference , you can't judge cause we are all different.
