Sounds more like you cannot take reponsability for your own
actions.
I'm just confused as to how your solution would have helped your original situation? You forgot to change the person's rights. Wouldn't you have also forgotten to toggle the request back on? Maybe I misunderstood your suggestion?

I'm so sorry OP :/ That's awful situation, and personally it's awful to know that this might have happened at Lich; on server where one of my active raiding alts has been since The Creator.
However. I do not think this sort of "FC ready checks" are possible to implement, and even if they were, on typical situations they would cause needless frustration more than anything else if there was no option to turn them off. Let's speculate that this feature was in game when 4.1 went online. You wrote that you trusted this person; would you have used that FC ready check anyway, as you kept his rank intact which enabled this all?
I think Big_Panda said it the best: poor judgement. Not saying you are bad or stupid person, since everyone makes mistakes. It sucks that GM's and supervisor's hands are tied but ToS was not violated... I think there is reason why what happened to you indeed is not against ToS; SE wants us as players to stay vigilant, not encouraging us to be suspicious of everyone per se, but to think hard to whom we we trust. And on SE's part, that is not malicious intent.

I think they can do minor changes in ToS if SE approves the suggestion. I dont know...
Very unfortunate, but like others said, this was all predicated on trust, and that's your deal, not Square's. Personally I wouldnt give anyone those privileges in FC unless I knew them in real life.
Hi everyone,
I'm here to ask you SE to add a new FEATURE to end all the backstabbing from close and trustworthy friends once they viciously destroy everything that meant something to you in FFXIV.
Before I start my suggestion. I want to tell you about my story that happened to me in [Lich] at the day of the Patch 4.1
While I feel sorry about your situation I do have one thing to say...ARE YOU SERIOUS? I mean no disrespect, unless you know the person in real life ( and not even then better be a very good family member ) and can actually trust him you kind of had it coming. SE does warn you not to share your account information and beware of who you give authority to. While I understand we have lives it might of been wiser to just let a family member do it for you, have taken a laptop, or just taken the day to your self. Sorry to hear that you were a victim of the oldest trick in the book...you have your self to blame :/
Hopefully you learn from your mistakes and remember never give anyone FC main admin functions.

I feel for ya, OP. It's terrible that a "trusted" friend would do a terrible thing like that.
I do think that people defending SE for protecting someone who basically stole from you is utter bullshit. People do need to be held accountable for their actions, and it is a shame that others don't see it that way.

Ok, for what I understand you ask him to buy a house and he scammed you.
Inappropriate Behavior from Prohibited Activities in Final Fantasy XIV
"· Fraud. Fraud is an act of deception intended to deprive a player of his or her full enjoyment of the game or a player’s property. Fraud occurs most often in agreements between players for trade, loot, or betting:
o Trade fraud: Fraud relating to the exchange of items or in-game services."
Basically you did a deal with him, why he was not punished based in this line? Was because his fc rank? I want understand more.
The minute two people agree it becomes responsibility of the consumer and SE has no say in it :/. It's a risk every one takes and unfortunately the evidence does back up his decision. From a different perspective it becomes a he said she said situation and just like in court if a person agrees and willingly gave permission without recourse or contract it's a good luck with that. A person can deny it and to prevent that SE remains neutral :/Ok, for what I understand you ask him to buy a house and he scammed you.
