The interface overall isn't as bad as people say. The real issue is that it's so obnoxiously slow. If I have to wait nearly four seconds for an item to be removed/shuffled/sold/transferred in my inventory, the system is broken.

Even if the transactions take awhile, with the right interface you could queue several transactions at once. The transactions in WoW aren't always immediate, but because you can keep clicking on everything you want to sell, it's not painful at all. It's the one-by-one item interface in FFXIV that aggravates the experience, making each transaction delay that much more excruciating.
(I do realize that the UI in FFXIV has been cleaned up a bit to require fewer clicks since this video was posted over a year ago, but fundamentally, the transaction delay problem is the same.)

I had to fast fwd after watching a few sec of the FFXIV selling part... it's painful even to watch. I really hope this is something they address in 2.0 and not only remake the HUD but the whole UI and menusEven if the transactions take awhile, with the right interface you could queue several transactions at once. LOL, you picked out a video @ Launch lol. thats why its slow then, right now its not really that slow ( at least to me) and I dont wait for more than 4 seconds , maybe 2 tops but not 4 lolEven if the transactions take awhile, with the right interface you could queue several transactions at once. Sit your ass down at a retainer that has 100+ items and try swapping something in from your inventory to the retainer's inventory that the retainer does not have and record it for us. It has not improved in any way. It's still just as slow and clunky as AmyRae pointed out. It takes "2 seconds tops" when the retainer already has a multiple of that item, but if it's an item the retainer does not have, it takes just as that long.

Ignorant people, will be Ignorant people. I only said how it is "to me". Don't tell me how it is for me, I'm not saying its the best, but its certainly not not crap as some people point it out to be.Sit your ass down at a retainer that has 100+ items and try swapping something in from your inventory to the retainer's inventory that the retainer does not have and record it for us. Its my opinion

When the game launched, you better not drag your mouse over your item list. Holy cow. It was like the server sent a check as you moused over items to confirm that "your mouse is on item x" hahaEven if the transactions take awhile, with the right interface you could queue several transactions at once. OMG I use to purposely maneuver the mouse around the buy and sell items because the game would "clock" badly if you got the mouse on top of an item that required a server interaction.
It was truly one of those laugh or cry things. How was it even POSSIBLE that they released it like that.
This, a billion times this.
I dread going to my retainer because the interface TAKES TOO ****ING LONG to do anything useful with. I have the same sort of dread when I go to NPCs to sell/buy items. It's just too - damn - SLOW.
