Let's not assume you have 8724 hours over the last year available since that's a wild exaggeration. If you have a job, and you occasionally sleep, and do other things like cleaning, eating and sleeping. That gives you about 5-6 hours a day to play and longer on weekends. In any event the figure comes out closer to 2,500 hours in a year to play the game assuming you're never away.

36 hours is on the low side but is less exaggerated than the other figure. If you lose 10 to 15 minutes on that interface every time you log in and you log in 7 days a week (that's a stretch in an of itself) the real figure is close to 91 hours lost.

If you're going to dump on someone for exaggerating the severity of their lost time due to a lousy interface at the very least try not doing it using another equally dramatized exaggeration.

I agree the interface is way too sluggish.... but you know what?
SE (mainly Yoshi P) also agrees. And are working to fix this as we speak (Well not as I speak being that it's around midnight there)
And thanks to the Captain here, Forum hyperbole is in full swing.
I'll gouge my eyes out with one of those colorful plastic appetizer swords if I see one more over-exaggerated, sensationalized declaration

Even if the transactions take awhile, with the right interface you could queue several transactions at once. The transactions in WoW aren't always immediate, but because you can keep clicking on everything you want to sell, it's not painful at all. It's the one-by-one item interface in FFXIV that aggravates the experience, making each transaction delay that much more excruciating.

(I do realize that the UI in FFXIV has been cleaned up a bit to require fewer clicks since this video was posted over a year ago, but fundamentally, the transaction delay problem is the same.)

well your posts are even worse i'd say. posting "funny" pictures (which arent funny) without any message isnt really much better.

everybody understood (you also), what he wanted to claim with his opening post.
so stop writing deconstructive posts when you really havent to tell anything. thats even more worse.

i hate posts like that. they make "fun" about one person and gives the impression of "spam posts" and to act stupid on purpose. so get your mind working if you are serious that you havent understood. really do we need this? no.

    to topic:

I'm personally wondering why SE isnt able to change the UI from which we saw in that screenshot even before 2.0. i mean its a YEAR after FFXIV was released. but it seems that they want to keep all interesting changes "under wraps" till then. "exclusivley" with the re-release of FFXIV version 2.0.
maybe because the "wow"-effect is much bigger for all of us then...

on the other side.. i dont want to have just the "little" changes for now and waiting for all big things coming up with V.2.0. late next year... well..

my house is in rebuilding stage. this house is very small and in unpopular area.
the roof, floors, plumbing, and gas are all broke.
my landlord fired the original crew. for not completing the job on time
the new crew comes in and makes all kinds of promises, and shows me pics.
now for next year i have to wait for them to finish the job.
should I move to a more popular, bigger house rent it for same price?
or stay in the part of my house that is not being rebuilt. but still pay same rent as others.

I had to fast fwd after watching a few sec of the FFXIV selling part... it's painful even to watch. I really hope this is something they address in 2.0 and not only remake the HUD but the whole UI and menus

    Buying 10 stacks of shards

1 second to press A and press A again to click buy
4 seconds waiting for it to go into my inventory and disappear on theirs and allow me to buy next one

after 50 seconds, 80% (40 seconds) was waiting on the UI to realize what it is doing.
