In Regard to Housing in Patch 4.1

Thanks for the response. I hope that we can see the addition of more medium and large houses. It feels like many players, myself included settled on a small plot because all of the others sold out so fast and would like the chance at a different size plot. Large and medium plots were gone in minutes but small plots lasted about half an hour on my server. Thanks for looking into this for us.

Thank you for the response and apology. Im super glad you guys have heard us and are going to help! I beg you please dont make it even harder to aquire a home with these new changes. It took me almost the whole time i been playing to afford a large home (2-3 yrs). Just make a ton more! Even if they are all Shirogane Style Thank you!!!! <3 <3

I agree... I also had an impulse to get a small in mist so i at least had a home. Was only thing left. The small houses and Apartments are just too small. I feel the need to break out.

I'm not sure what threads the Dev team are looking at for suggestions, but I'd like to offer an idea that I saw on Reddit. One way to curb the housing shortage would be to allow people to have different size apartments. Since they're all instanced anyways, what's the problem with offering, say a penthouse for 10 mil or so? Also, each apartment needs to have a "balcony" where you can place a small amount of outdoor furnishings and gardens. You can also put in communal courtyards that have chocobo stables, a marketboard and maybe even a small swimming pool. This allows players the ability to customize their apartments more and have access to gardening as well, while also giving us some sense of community. You can make it all instanced so you don't have to worry about object limits like in a housing ward.

Square should change it so that players have to pay a rent fee each week. The fee could be paid via Company Credits for Fc's you do this by purchasing housing credits similar to flight credits. The fee should scale depending on the size of your house. This way it makes it so you have the right size house for the right size free company. Prior to purchase each placard should specify how many company credits are needed to keep the house each week. If this fee isnt paid (can pay in advance by 3 weeks for holidays) weekly then you lose the house but gain 80% of the cost back plus all furniture.

Personal houses should be changed so that the housing credits are purchased via grand company seals. SE could do this by rewarding grand company seals from anything in the game, more active you are the more seals you get.

This would discourage people flipping houses or having multiple over many different characters. At the same time rewarding you for being active.
