    4.1 customer backlash is probably bigger than they anticipated and the problem isn't easy/quick to fix. If they want to make big changes to the housing system for patch 4.2 (which wouldn't have been part of the planned schedule) then it would significantly delay patch 4.2.

    Then they better hop on it right away then. They should man up, insert a housing revamp now, and push everything on their development road map one version later.

    Rent is a bad idea and saying players can only get a small with FCs getting medium and large is dumb. When I started my first FC in patch 2.2 and spent 3 straight months crafting to make gil to buy the medium FC house. If there was rent on it, I would have lost the house with in 5 months as I was tried of crafting plus the game was really slow at that time. I mean really what would you do charge rent to be in your FC to pay the rent fee? I am sure players would stop joining Fcs. as it stands FCs feel more like a collection of link shells that get buffs right now. SE has gutted most ever reason to be in an FC. The 45 day housing demolish which is currently off is dumb. What if someone is going to take a break from the game, they want their gil back and for this SE gets the house to relist in a way to prevent house flipping. SE should have an in game housing system to transfer a house to check for RMT and to put an end to flipping housing. It can be done if they wanted.

    The maintenance fees don't have to be significant. It could be as low as 100 gil, for all i care. In other MMO's, they usually also give you the option of paying for multiple months in advance, and even past that there is a decent grace period to catch up. Of course, it's all made up by the devs, but it serves a couple of purposes: 1) It reminds you that you own a house, a check-in if you will. Demolition optional for the dev team. 2) it provides a gil sink to help balance the economy.

    This is not some kind of radical new idea. It's been proven to be successful in almost every other mmo in the past DECADE or so.

    I like the idea of the smalls only being available as personal houses and Mediums/Larges being FCs only. The FC needs to have at least 10 members to purchase a plot would also stop everyone making a person FC to by pass it too. Just minus the rent scheme... Let's not do that on account of some FC not being great at making that much money in a short time.

    No cinematic meteor cutscenes promised, and likely not a full revamp but it seems there will be more houses in 4.2:

    Let's see how Yoshi P approaches it this time. Adding more wards is the obvious quick fix for now. Question will be, how will they roll it out, are they going to clean up the house-to-account ratio, and what they plan to do in the long-term. Otherwise, we'll just see another sad repeat performance.

    I totally disagree with "rent". They're houses, not apartments. The point of housing is not for housing to turn over when people run out of money.

    I can definitely get behind 1 house / account, though.
