yeah, there is a difference in your metaphor. The OP is not your friend, he has no social obligation towards you.Let me ask you this. Say you got a promotion at your current job but your best friend lost theirs on the same day. Would you celebrate in front of them on that very day and insist going out to dinner? Probably not.
No one is saying people who got lucky need to be bleeding hearts but creating a "positivity" on the day most people were screwed out of that same feature in some way or another is remarkably tone deaf. This isn't even the OP commenting on an existing thread saying they got lucky and are happy about it. They created a thread to spotlight themselves and draw attention. I hearken back to the example above.
Also, grow up. Learn to be happy for other people.
