Female Mi'qote (Keepers of the Moon) voice 5 combat sond

This voice is the only one I'm ever able to hear other then my own during hunts when there's several dozen people around for some reason.

Did they purposely make it louder then the others or something?

yeah that is part of my point, not only is it obnoxiously annoying, it is also louder then all the other voices. It really did confuse me when I entered savage for the first time and kept hearing it, I am like is that wind noise supposed to be a warning for a mechanic? It is too loud at the very least on top of being annoying.

She's not exactly wrong though.

Clearly enough players use the voice that it's instantly recognizable, so just because a few players dislike it, every player with a character that uses it gets the shaft?

That's not how it works.

People do not pick it for combat noises, there is not even a preview for it in the character selection.

She's not wrong, but I don't think that was the best way to go about it. Either way, I'm not bothered, I dislike certain voices, but I either mute them or just muffle them out with music.

Complaining it's much louder than other voices is more reasonable, and I agree that some clips are too loud, but stating "people don't pick it for the combat voices" carries an implication that the players who choose the voice ALSO dislike the combat voice clips inspite of liking the others. That's simply not something we can have proven.

As an alternative view, I've played games where I started remembering the timing of skills based off the vocal clips. Or, some people just genuinely like bright, high pitched, or unusual voices, too.


(Also, you can actually listen to 8 clips in character creator. The 5 on the voice selection, the stretch emote when you flick on movement to see emotes, and the last two are a happy or sad response to if your name choice is confirmed or denied. The extra three aren't simple to find, so it's understandable that some players don't know how to trigger them.)

I absolutely wish we could mute individual player's voices BECAUSE of that particular voice. It's insanely ear buffeting.

At the very least have the game mute blacklisted players.

I prefer straight to the point. I didnt grow up in a politically correct household. I'm also an older player so I stopped caring if I offended people. There's a lot of aesthetic features I don't like in games. Just as there are a lot of things I don't like in real life. But I accept the fact that my taste is purely personal and there will be others who do like those things as we all have different likes. It takes a pretty self-centered person to create a thread, advocating the elimination of choices they dont like, that others clearly must like(or they wouldnt have chosen them). As if their opinion somehow matters more than possibly thousands of others. We should be cheering for more choices, not less.


I wonder how you'd like it(this is directed at the OP), if one day you logged on and your favorite race was gone because someone else hated it(which a lot of people do) and so their opinion and taste were deemed more important? Wouldnt that just suck.

change it, delete it, something, it is even in the comments how much it annoys people. To me it is a too high pitched wind rushing sound and really triggers me (hard to explain, but it has to do with sound sensitivity)

Hyperbolize means to use hyperbole; to exaggerate. As you may already know, the noun form, hyperbole, means obvious and intentional exaggeration. So you could say to your friend, "You are hyperbolizing, and I'm done listening now."

I also understood she wasn't holding a serious campaign for it to be literally deleted (not like I'd complain if that happened, hahaha). It was clear hyperbole and it didn't require such uber serious replies about equality rights. It's very okay for you to say "I need this thing removed from my game asap" when you know it won't be removed and no one is in, um, danger.
