What do you think you could have possibly gotten for the same dev effort as a modification of an existing raid? Should they not add *anything* until they can tit for tat for everyone?
You do realize the raiding community is important to this game don't you? They need a challenge just like other groups have other interests to motivate them. Raiding took an awful hit in heavensward to the point people were leaving servers in droves to find others to play with. I for one am happy they're getting something and personally I think it's long overdue.who said it revolved around me but I certainly know it doesn't revolve around people whom do super savage either so I dont really understand ur point. Like I said super savage is for a handful of people and streamers to show on youtube Id hardly call that content but you can if you want to.
Who said it revolves around people who do super savage? That is just one piece of content among many, that has just as much right to exist as any other. This patch has something for people who like housing, something for people who like PvP, something for people who like ex primals, 24 man raiding (and by extension - nostalgia driven story), treasure maps, beast tribes, and there is even brand new content in the form of squadron dungeons (a piece of content that has been hinted at since early 3.0). You are the one singling out hardcore raiders, nobody else.
who says they have to go in order I dont even like potd but they could of already released it, they could have released eruka , they could of allowed us to do more with our squadrons Ive very disappointed in this feature 5 dungeons three of which are below level 44. By them not bringing out something like potd earlier that just means they gona go in the same pattern they already have with one less dungeon, and instead of three months of the same ones you now have 6 months you get to do the same dungeons over and over again its literally no need to even unlock the new dungeon thats coming out.
Like I said earlier I have barely a year of this game and I already know exactly what they are bringing out already, they are going in the same exact pattern when they dont have to. Even this beast tribe coming out could have been the crafter and gatherers one , but nope gota stick to that pattern. You can predict the whole line of sb already for the most part about same amount of msq as dragonsong, 5 quest a patch, we will get three new primals with a side story and maybe one more for story just like hw.
And get new four new raids every six months until the next expansion throw in now super savage every odd patch. And two more 24 mans with a weekly lock out, they not gona change anything its gona be like this until the expansion ends. They could at least switch up the order at the least instead of giving an exact carbon copy of what hw was because this is what we are on pace for currently the writing is on the wall only difference is one less dungeon and super savage which more people will actually have done the dungeon they took out.
I want to emphasis this because people all too frequently dismiss the raid community as a minority that shouldn't ever be focused on. Say they continue to reduce Savage difficulty or do little else to incentivize raiding. Now more and more raiders leave for greener pastures, this trickles down to the crafting and gathering community who find less people valuing consumables or higher end crafted gear, which only dilutes their enjoyment. Likewise, Duty Finder becomes less populated by skilled players, perhaps driving more players to run exclusively with their FC mates. You do realize the raiding community is important to this game don't you? They need a challenge just like other groups have other interests to motivate them. Many bits of content have subtle connections that impact one another. Downplaying one can easily affect all of them just like putting too great an emphasis (Gordias) can have equally negative effects. It's important everyone has something they enjoy. Ultimate will hopefully be that for raiders who have felt disillusioned since Creator.

But Im not tho, super savage is new content something thats never been done in the game before, primals arent new everyone already knew we where getting a ex version of shiryu, already knew we where getting a 24 man as well this isnt new. Its new in the sense that its a new version of a primal , and a 24 man but not new in the fact that its something that hasnt ever happened before in the game. Super savage is its funny how people justify the going back and spending resources on super savage something very niche, but then you see post of changing the two 8 man dungeons and many people on the forums are like no lets not waste resources etc etc.
I guess people have their picks, the new and innovative form of content of this patch is squadrons which is a total let down , I was thinkin wed at least be able to do all dungeons below 60 with them, and super savage which to me even tho I like raiding doesnt justify existing simply because of how few players will take part in it. And if the clear rate is absolutely horrible which I hope it is then maybe finally people will stop complaining about the lack of difficulty thats even less reason it should exist. So my frustration is why is the only real fresh thing we are getting something that only a few thosand people are even gona be able to do.
I usually agree wit you bourne-Endeavor but I just dont feel like this is the case, the devs have already said they anticipated that many people would clear v1s and v2s and struggle with v3s, and 4s. They said this in a live letter so its not like even all raiders are destroying this whole raid tier we have now even if some believe its watered down. So if the data already shows that people have struggled with ,3 and 4 then if super savage is 10 times harder than 4, then how many people are we really talkin here. It would be Im guessing people such as your self and streamers and such I like to watch like xeynos, happy etc, but if this lives up to what they claim and have boasted about then this should be the hardest raid in the game thus far, so if thats the case then even most raiders wont even be clearing it either thus = a waste of resources.
I agree, the raid community is important. All community factions in the game are. I'm happy they got a higher raid even though I don't raid. But is this content going to keep them around for any noticeable length of time? It's one raid, farmable within a week, then the raiders that stick around for the challenge unsub and wait for the next one. To clarify I don't like PoTD. PotD was new content and it is still relevant today. Almost everything in this patch is whitewash that won't last. You do realize the raiding community is important to this game don't you? Yes - and remember why? Because the raid tier at the time was way too difficult. Because it catered to an extremely narrow hardcore crowd and while the actual difficulty of Ultimate is yet to be seen, it appears to cater to that exact crowd as well (It's hyped up to be anyway). And remember how Creator revived the raid scene? Right, by being easier and thus more accessible.
Personally, I'd start being worried Ultimate doesn't cause raiding to take a hit again. It comes two turns later than A3S did, which is a good thing, but it'll probably be a similar situation for those who DO intend to tackle it.
I feel this patch is underwhelming too, where is Eureka..or new stuff they said we would get for losing yet another dungeon. They removed a dungeon in HW so we could get "more unique content" then they removed another in SB for the same reason, which is more then fine..but I am not seeing this brand new never before type seen content. Don't even try to tell me its that raid..because this game has had raids in it since Yoshida took over in 1.x. The way it was worded was as if it would be some type of brand new content, like PotD or something.
I'll still play on and off as usual, I just use this game as a time killer till uni is over heh but even I can admit, aside from the 24 man, nothing interests me in 4.1. If others like it, well thats good too, I am glad they look forward to stuff. Just throwing in my two cents.![]()
