Can we get children?

My personal stance on this is a very firm no. I feel that this would be really awkward and have weird lingering side-effects from divorce.

However, even though it's a feature I'd never utilize, I understand that some would have fun with it. So, if it was implemented it wouldn't really affect me much.

1) Have you MET Japanese culture? Are you NOT familiar with the incredible amount of Doujin and Hentai manga/art depicting sexual and lewd acts with children? Yoshi-P has literally advised and answered questions in some past live letters/interviews regarding adding kids for adventurers or warriors of light for the sake of being a child (in this case, as a playable race), would cause issues because of the demented and mentally screwed up people in the world who may RP and give FFXIV the bad rep because of it. Yoshi-P doesn't want that reputation. And I can understand and agree with that similar nature in mind. The NPC's are in this game, but have no real affiliation to you whatsoever other than "that one person who everyone knows, who helps people, and thus, you have a new job to help them!". That's it. Nothing more, nothing less. The problem is, people are ASKING for children and again, comes back to reputation if the issue pops up with RPing and that happening. Sadly, as most other enjoyable things in life, we can't simply have "nice things" because there's people who WOULD ABSOLUTELY RUIN IT FOR OTHERS. Even outside of this information, the problem still remains that as children owning them, similar to pets and minions, there are people who would intend to ruin it for the sake of ruining it for all. Because people are logically incompetent and/or stupid, in the sense.

2) Zhloe and Khloe work well because they're just there for the crafters and a side story and/or for gatherers. Sad story nontheless, but still there as is. When you're not doing that, other adventurers are doing the work to help them out. You don't even have to think about it. It's one and done on that issue. There's no RPing with the npc who thinks of you as just another person, except better than most of the other NPC's in lore.

Maybe it is content people want. Maybe in some games like Skyrim and the Sims, it's more acceptable. Maybe in some other MMO's it would be okay. Final Fantasy is not one of those game titles. Period.

GOD ppl, sometimes i really wonder how we been created to this egoistic world full of whining and complainings. making small things into bleehhh...Cmon...
Whats so damn wrong with smallish mini games? and phenofilla?...word..wtf....ugh...i havent read or bother read all comments and lines, just seing some ugly words that disturbed me... wow so disgusting ..ugly piece of shit...how can you even puke out a words like that...?

Maybe you meant risk of this would appear, still same ugh..., then ppl are just shiit!...then why do we even bother having marriage in the game, theres alots of ppl lonely and having a rough life, so shouldnt we see this " FAKE "marriage as a bad thing too for creating ppl for suicide risks if the partner gets tired of boredom and leave the game and whoops his parter killed himself heartbroken? We can keep nagging on this subject " what if " this and that.
Then suddenly everything you see in a game is a risk for something...

Oh, I am quite aware of the kinds of depravity you are talking about. I have to wonder, though, have YOU played THIS game? There are NUMEROUS child NPCs already in the game - and what a surprise, they DON'T have hordes of pervert players standing around them making with the ecchi. Even prime loli-bait NPCs like Khloe. I don't think even Balmung has much of this going on, and they are NOTORIOUS for that kind of thing.

But sure, let's pretend for a moment that there really is this vast collection of drooling maniacs waiting to unleash their perversions in full view of the poor, unsuspecting players and their virgin eyes. The answer is simple: keep the children indoors. Don't allow players to parade them around town; rather, require folks to have an apartment or house for their children, and only allow the child to exist within those confines. Perhaps you can send the child on errands or whatever - but no one outside of your house will ever see them. Whatever players choose to do with these children will have absolutely no impact on the population at large, unless the population at large decides to hang around inside those players' houses.

Even if they aren't so restricted, though your worries are nothing short of paranoia. Are there players who would get all sexytimes with their virtual kid? Probably. Will these people ruin the game for everyone else? To think so is ridiculous in the extreme. Players will blacklist and move on, just as they do with any other kind of vulgar RP they come across. If that kind of thing was enough to ruin the game, the game would have collapsed the moment they added Khloe to Idyllshire.
