Wish we could do away with the main heal/off heal crap. I'm always stuck in the off healer role, and it's not fun, unless things go sour. I wanna heal too ):If you see healers on that level, then the most important difference for their dmg is their mindest towards healing in this game. Having an main and off heal is not efficient and those numbers from both healers at the same time are only possible when you heal together and use instant heals most of the time. They plan an fight out and communicate during it sometimes. It also helps, if you have an good knowledge of all tanks and healers, since you can judge better what is possible for the other healer/tanks.
Thread's a bit old at this point but I wanted to chime in as someone who mains WM but DPSes as BM.
I wouldn't say healing is easy, it just doesn't require a rotation to the extent that DPS does. I still can't believe how often I see healers neglecting the use of skills like Largesse and Eye for an Eye. The former, especially on a WM/Astro, can keep the party well healed and give you breathing room to DPS.
Two, BM rotation is not hard to do, but it is hard to keep up. I still don't think it's fair to compare them to tank/healer; DPS rotation may be more complex, but they don't have to worry as much about keeping the team alive. That in itself is a level of complexity that would be unfair if in addition to a complex dps rotation. That said, SMN does have me concerned about the future of the game; we'll only get more levels and more skills, and some classes are already getting out of control. That, however, is not just a DPS issue.
Can't blame healers for not using eye for eye, just like you can't blame them for not usin rescue.Thread's a bit old at this point but I wanted to chime in as someone who mains WM but DPSes as BM.I wouldn't say healing is easy, it just doesn't require a rotation to the extent that DPS does. Swiftcast, largese, lucid dreaming, esuna, protect are replacing basic "required" abilities, no room for anything else, blame SE for the poor role action system.
