I can support the request for suspend on demolishing. Since in Japan. They did this.. USA should have that right too.

However, I do not agree on delaying the 4.1 housing launch. With people "Moving" to the new area. That will open up house slots on the rest of the server. While I understand this may not be as favorable. Those with houses will be happy to keep what they have, while people who dont have any, will find plots opening up in 4.1

I support this. When tragedy strikes often times it really is the little things that help you cope mentally and emotionally during the aftermath. When some of these people get back on after losing their real life homes, seeing that their video game home is right there waiting for them is going to have an impact.

I sympathize, but I think the difference of the Japan quakes is how huge it was. I mean please consider how big the United States is compared to Japan. A disaster there has the capacity to affect a lot more player base than it does here. I mean stuff happens in the US a lot in a year. We'd have to constantly stop the timer for this Hurricanes and Tornadoes in the Midwest. And at that point it would be constantly off. I don't want to seem as uncaring but I feel like we can't just have it shut off unless it's something that severely impacts a lot of people.

Maybe it should be considered because we have had 2 major ones (Texas and Florida) but at the same time I think we should be really be cautious about just requesting to turn it off just cause something's happened, unless it's really severe.

It's not just hurricanes, and its not just Texas and Florida. A lot of the islands off the coast were completely smashed. A major earthquake just hit Mexico. Northwest US and Southwest Canada are on fire everywhere. Even if you're not a victim, there are also a lot of aid workers who are struggling to distribute relief.

It's not only the hurricanes happening, but the Pacific Northwest is currently ravaged by wildfires prompting evacuations of thousands along with several evacuations in California, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and now Colorado. Combine this with wildfires in Canada and the earthquakes in Mexico which are also serviced by NA servers.

This is not just a Florida thing, there are hundreds of currently displaced FFXIV players, some of which I know.

Suspending demolition would break immersion though. Real life doesn't suspend demolition of houses.

That's exactly my point, we would be shutting off the timer almost all the time. As weather events happen yearly constantly, this year is especially bad, but they happen all the time in the US and granted in most of North America. The thing is shutting off the timer is convenient but also unfair for others that can play. Granted it's a high numbers affected but many more that are not. Again, it's a difficult situation. Ideally it would be great to stop the timer to accommodate those affected but at the same time we can't stop it for everyone every time something happens because at that point, it's like why even have the timer?

I do not know about the plans for Shirogane. This will be SE's decision. I can however imagine the frustration of players if they do delay it.

Example comments may include but are not limited to:

"Who cares? They have bigger things on their mind than losing out some virtual game house!"

"We are paying customers and our enjoyment should not be affected by external factors that do not impact us at all!"

"Do you lots have no compassion? What if you were in that hit zone?"

ALL of FL, that is also affecting GA and SC. There is also Hurricane Jose that we do not know what it is gonna do yet after the circle it is supposed to make in the Atlantic.

Don't mean to be mean, But sorry. I don't agree with this.
RL is far more important then an IG house.

If you loss you IG house and that is a worry to you among all the other stuff going on. Sadly it shouldn't be. That being said. I was in the hospital with 2 broken legs for the last 4 months. Just played for the 1st time 3 weeks ago. Found my house was gone. Ooh Well, I am on Balmung where the chance of me even getting a house in the new zones is small. Its a game.

And I do thing that servers like Balmung should get more housing. SE would sooner people move on VS solve that issue.
