^Since they did suspend it after the earthquake in Japan, I hope it is not asking too much to do the same for NA?
I do not know about the plans for Shirogane. This will be SE's decision. I can however imagine the frustration of players if they do delay it.
Example comments may include but are not limited to:
"Who cares? They have bigger things on their mind than losing out some virtual game house!"
"We are paying customers and our enjoyment should not be affected by external factors that do not impact us at all!"
"Do you lots have no compassion? What if you were in that hit zone?"
Only fair
ALL of FL, that is also affecting GA and SC. There is also Hurricane Jose that we do not know what it is gonna do yet after the circle it is supposed to make in the Atlantic.I sympathize, but I think the difference of the Japan quakes is how huge it was. I mean please consider how big the United States is compared to Japan. A disaster there has the capacity to affect a lot more player base than it does here. I mean stuff happens in the US a lot in a year. We'd have to constantly stop the timer for this Hurricanes and Tornadoes in the Midwest. And at that point it would be constantly off. I don't want to seem as uncaring but I feel like we can't just have it shut off unless it's something that severely impacts a lot of people.
Maybe it should be considered because we have had 2 major ones (Texas and Florida) but at the same time I think we should be really be cautious about just requesting to turn it off just cause something's happened, unless it's really severe.

Yes, but having at least this one little thing that is still going to be there despite the chaos that's occuring can bring a little peace of mind. That is invaluable when there is this much loss.
Keeping a house "in a video game" should honest to goodness be a last priority for someone who's a victim of the recent hurricane. While they have my utmost sympathy and i do hope they can get back on their feet with all loved ones well. If your biggest worry is "i need to get on XIV so i can save my house" you may need to rethink your life choices.
That's the whole reason housing demolishing was suspended after the Earthquakes, after all. It's just a little courtesy and care.

I'm in full support of this. Hopefully the Mods can past this along to the Dev Team.
While I'm 100% in support of the demolition of housing, it seems only fair since the Earthquakes also caused a pause of the demolition feature. I'd be for it.

Absolutely in support of this.
Regarding Shirogane, I definitely don't think a delay would really do much other than cause backlash, but if absolutely anything, maybe only delay 3-4 wards but open the rest.

Yes to suspension of the demolition timer.
No to delaying Shirogane.
♥ Baby, tell me, what's your motive? ♥

Support.
Love from New Zealand, stay safe you crazy Americans.
No. Disasters are always gonna be happening somewhere; that's not a good enough reason to continuously delay new content.Although, would it pertinent to also delay the launch of Shirogane in light of this, too?
I can get behind the original request made by the OP, though.
Supporting this +1

And if they delay Shirogane, how long would they have to delay it with? Have us wait another few weeks? or months? By that time some natural disaster will have struck somewhere in the world again so yet another group of people will as for a further delay.
You cant delay or suspend anything on one datacenter and not on another because can you imagine the outrage there when people see other centers already got it. Looking at the korean and chinese dresses. Or the comments about the cloud mount promotions.
The housing demolition timer is 45 days, would be one hell of a rl disaster if you cant get back online even for a few minutes in that time.
If your rl is that bad i'm shure your ingame house is the least of your worries.
