Faking disconnects

I actually did this in a Mentor Roulette with the group I joined. A DPS left because they didn't want to do Nidhogg Extreme (and just wanted a fast Mentor roulette, no doubt). Well, I told them not to kick the person and we would wait for them to come back. Sure enough, they came back and disconnected really quickly once they did. We did it two more times before voting to abandon, but we unfortunately did not get any sort of reaction from them.

Or, you know... How about making something so people didn't WANT to leave? Make Mentors earn 5 roulette credits for a dungeon and 10 for successful EX primal kill, so they can stop fishing quick 2 minute guildhests which give... just think... the same credit as 40 minute wipefest, which actually most of the time gives no credit at all because of duty abandoning. For those who want only mentor mount its counter productive to stay... What's the incentive? (And no, teaching is not enough motivation or them).

Occasionally I'll get net issues that cause me to disconnect and reconnect quickly (which boots me from the game and makes it hard for me to log back in). If I'm running with my gf, it's not usually an issue because she can tell the party what's up, but when I'm by myself I've gotten "Welcome back, we didn't kick you and we plan on reporting you for trying to skip this dungeon" more often than not. Doesn't matter how many times you tell them it's a legitimate net issue and apologize.

This is kinda why im glad i have alts... If i "fake DC" which i dont do much... at least i have an alt to go play as lol. To assume 3 people would wait an entire timer b/c they think i fake DCed or whatever is absurd. What if i or whomever legitly DCed b/c of power outage randomly in a crappy slow run?

Thrre was two people mentioning that 5 mins is enough to come vack. That is totally false. Sometimes you get one of those errors that force you to reboot the router and the computer. When I was still playing with my old computer it would yake me at least 5 mins to get mt computer on and runny and then try to log in the game. So I would say 5 to 10 mins is more accurate.

I love people that wait when I get a random 90k. Makes me grumpy when I stress out trying to log back in and I see that I got kicked before even 3 minutes

I'm with you on this. FF XIV sound plug-in are bads (if I unplug my wireless headphone it disconnect me from the game) and it is the only game that I know with this problem. So everytimes my daughter unplug or plug it, the game crash and sometimes I got kicked b4 the 1 min it take me to log back.

I wonder if people waited for me to log back in ever since the (entire) state I live in lost power for roughly a day (more for others depending on where they lived). I even remember which dungeon I was in: Xelphatol, fighting first boss.

Lol I was in that party too and people like that should be stripped of the crown. I can't stand people who do mentor roulette's 100% for the mount. It discredits the real mentors who actually try to help and gives sprouts a bad impression of mentors.
